There are reports coming out of Russia that is on the verge of collapse.



Bill Browder is the American businessman who was defrauded by the Russian government, leading to the Magnitsky Act. Sergei Magnitsky was his lawyer, who died in Russian custody trying to fight for Browder in Russia.

If Russian internet has indeed been cut off, and top military leaders are dying/being arrested, it will be interesting to see what happens. It's possible that Trump lifting sanctions on Russian oil is too little, too late.

If Putin were "good as a dictator", he wouldn't have to go to war to stay in power. Putin attacked the Ukraine as a distraction to his disastrous economy, and declining population.

The population of Russia is dropping like a stone. It was 149 million at it's peak in 1990. Today it's estimated to be 143.5 million. Declining birth rates are to blame, and a million men of military age have left Russia since the Ukrainian war started.

You cannot name one nation in the world which is under the control of a dictator where the general population has good income, and resources. That includes the USA.

Russians are not good at war because they do not care about their citizens. Unlike the Brits and Americans who try and save their soldiers lives, the more centrally controlled a nation the more they view soldiers as fodder rather than reverence.

The Russians still have the mindset of WW2, when they did have an inexhaustible source of soldiers. That is not the case now, and Russia is worsening an already serious demographic problem. In a generation, they will not have enough people to defend their nation. I see China taking most of Siberia sometime between now and 2050.
