SS and Medicare are Taboo. You don't touch it. GW wanted to allow us to use just 3% of our SS money for our own IRA's and you thought it was the end of the world. The Democrats went nuts and several Republicans joined them. They are not about to lose that power. After people seen the growth of their 3%, we'd be demanding 8%, then 15%.
