Not sure what you mean by spirit. Does every animal have spirit or just man?Human beings are ineradicably body as well as spirit. This coupling is not a liability. The denial of the coupling is a liability.

I believe all life has the duality of spirit and matter. Some have argued that all "things" are spirit and matter. I'm not quite there just yet but I can understand why they would believe that. Not sure what you mean by spirit. Does every animal have spirit or just man?
Why?
How exactly am I pushing Christian beliefs? But if you want to see me as stupid, be my guest. It only works in my favor. Are you really that stupid!!!
If your going to push your Christian beliefs you should be able to back them up with rational thought. I would think that's what God would want you to do.
OK. Does that include carrots and amoeba?I believe all life has the duality of spirit and matter. Some have argued that all "things" are spirit and matter. I'm not quite there just yet but I can understand why they would believe that.
Why not? Aren't they alive? Do they respond to their environment?OK. Does that include carrots and amoeba?
No thanks, I think your argument is fringe enough. Are there good carrots and evil carrots? Why not? Aren't they alive? Do they respond to their environment?
Care to make a different fringe argument?
Evil is the absence of good. Evil isn't extant. Good is extant. Evil is the negation of good. Negations don't exist unto their selves. No thanks, I think your argument is fringe enough. Are there good carrots and evil carrots?
You dodged the question. Let me try again, are there very good carrots and carrots that are not as good?Evil is the absence of good. Evil isn't extant. Good is extant. Evil is the negation of good. Negations don't exist unto their selves.
I don't have an answer, no one does. There are only theories.I think it's quite remarkable that you can be so flippant about this while you yourself have never even attempted to answer the origin questions.
I disagree. So, no, I'm not making a fringe argument. I'm making the same argument that's been around for thousands of years, while you yourself have no argument at all other than nibbling around the fringes to provide the illusion that you have looked at this more than you have.
Whatever spiritual content living things possess would most likely be commensurate with their level of intelligence. So, no. It's very doubtful that carrots are good or evil. You dodged the question. Let me try again, are there very good carrots and carrots that are not as good?
And yet you know for certain it wasn't God.I don't have an answer, no one does. There are only theories.
Why do you disagree?I disagree.
Is the CMB a theory? Is paired particle production a theory? Is red shift a theory? There are only theories.
This is not hard. I don't know whether or not a carrot has a spiritual element--haven't thought much about carrots. But let's say they do. You offer an example of rot taking place in a carrot. So? A human has a spirit. If the body of a human contracts cancer, that cancer is of the body, not of the spirit. The same would be true of the spirit of a carrot. If its "body" contracts rot, that would have nothing to do with its spirit. You dodged the question. Let me try again, are there very good carrots and carrots that are not as good?
What does it mean that carrots, with their low level of intelligence, have a spiritual component?Whatever spiritual content living things possess would most likely be commensurate with their level of intelligence. So, no. It's very doubtful that carrots are good or evil.
I find your arguments to be faith-based, not science-based. Your 'logic' is generally not as logical as you think it is.I find your arguments to be lazy and disingenuous.
You are correct. These are some of the current theories:Is the CMB a theory? Is paired particle production a theory? Is red shift a theory?
No. They are all based on empirical observations.
What is illogical is to assume that the God (capital 'G') of the Bible is the creator of the universe(s) based on zero evidence save for the writings of some bronze-age people who got their information from other bronze-age people. And yet you know for certain it wasn't God.
And you don't see how this is illogical?
Sorry but I don't believe carrots have any 'spirit'.Why do you disagree?
Thanks for the reply but I think the carrot spirit thing is tapped out. This is not hard. I don't know whether or not a carrot has a spiritual element--haven't thought much about carrots. Yes, the reason I didn't respond the first time is that it was dead on arrival. Thanks for the reply but I think the carrot spirit thing is tapped out.
