Should Trump purchase Canada?

Pssst. We drove you out of Canada and we burned down the ******* White House. We did not lose the war of 1812. ...
...

The War of 1812 wasn't with Canada at all. It was against Great Britain. You frozen pussies were still too weak to have gained independence by then. Don't kid yourself just because your flaccid government has tried to fabricate any shred of national pride. You are natural servants.

The GG is appointed by the Prime Minister, not the King. You didn't read my post, fool.
Reading down the thread, folks knowledge of Canada's history and that King Charles' only duty is head os state, just shows that Americans are clueless what a head of state does and means.

You keep spanking them, the odd one might learn something but most Americans are quite poor and stubborn on history.

A question is on the forum about making Canada a State? I have a stronger question. Should Trump purchase Canada and have the citizens there divide it into a number of states? I would not want Canada to suffer being purchased by the USA and deny their citizens the right to select what becomes states. It would turn out ugly to impose that on Canada. So Canada can decide to be part of the United States and Trump by public will can hand them money for the purchase.
Would you oppose owning Canada? If you are in a hurry, spool this video to close to the end. Say around 16:30 minutes.

Um, nobody is going to buy Canada. I don't think we have enough money in circulation to even come close.

The idea is silly really. Even annexation isn't going to happen.

Keep this statement by you in mind should you encounter really tough conditions. How easy you gave up. And how little is achieved by people who give up very fast.

I dunno. There was this lady in an elevator in Montreal many years ago who gave it up very fast. She achieved quite a lot.

There is no point arguing with an idiot who knows nothing.

King Charles has nothing to do with the government of England. He is a monarch in name only. The British monarchy is a figurehead to perform for pomp and ceremony. They have no role in government outside of ceremony.

The same is true of the governor general and no the PM does not provide a list of names to the King. The Prime Minister appoints the Governor General.

The GG’s role is largely ceremonial as well, except that he or she accepts the writ sets election dates at the request of the Prime Minister, or when the government in power is defeated in a “non-confidence motion”.

It’s called a constitutional monarchy. You might want to look it up.
Yes, you know nothing. I would not expect you to know a thing. I said there was a king and you seemed to argue there us not.

I worked in Canada enough, I work with a Canadian now. Nobody disagrees that there is a king. Does he influence the government? To what degree? The king does apoint the governor General who is tasked with looking out for the people as a non partisan politician

There is that. Now we can get into the king's other representatives throughout the government

No. We don't need more gun grabbing homos.

I live in tough conditions every day, so that doesn't apply.

All I'm doing is just being a realist. Canada isn't going to be part of the US. That's not giving up, that's just being realistic.

You just confirmed what I stated. King Charles III is the King of Canada. The Governor General is appointed by the Monarchy, which is the King.

Get very detailed if you like, the facts can not be disputed
The Governor general is appointed by the Prime minister.

Lateral thinking

Has Mr Trumf thrown in Canada as a deflection away from Greenland ?
He possibly blundered by hinting at the presence of something "extra" there -- like the Weather Engineering complex that Deniers seem frightened to hear about .

Although I could have also mentioned Antarctica .

I wager that when this country revolted against the king of England, many claimed that Washington never would defeat England. When the Nazis were engaged in war, naysayers declared the USA was way too weak to defeat the Nazis. But those thinking like me said, I will do that job and when they did, they won.

Sure, Canada is a part of England.
No, it’s not

Charles II is King of Canada but it’s completely separate from his being the King of the United Kingdom. Or the King of Australia. Or the King of New Zealand.

He’s the king of each separately and Individually. They’re all completely independent nations

Are there seriously a flood of threads on this site about annexing/purchasing Canada just because Trump posted some stupid joke meme on social media?

Really?

Yet he appoints people to the government. As i said, Canada has a king

He tried to buy Greenland the last time around. Didn't work out for him. LOL.

I didn't even know that Canada is for sale. It's probably not.
