U.S. excludes Canada from trade talks with Mexico

Canadians didn't listen to me.

Any of the usual suspects want to doubt what I said was going to occur? I would have had a better chance negotiating with Trump and his team as I understand the U.S population, their challenges and concerns better than most Canadians, by a wide margin.

We needed to embrace civil liberties and U.S principles, NOT turn to China. NOT fund a covert police state that is meddling in U.S corporations. I should have retired in a U.S corporation, my first career after graduation, but instead covert operatives were in the corporations destroying it and me. What a horrible miscalculation of a man who was as pro-American (and Canada) as any.

Canada has to learn that they can no longer count on the U.S.
You need to develop relationships with other trade partners that are more dependable

Umm, we've been doing that for decades, though we do NOT have free trade among ourselves!

We signed a glorious trade deal called TPP, immediately lost 10s of thousands of manufacturing jobs when they offshored.

We signed CETA, a free trade agreement with Europe. They ran a $20B a year trade surplus with us even as they have 10x our population and economic size, they still did not buy from us but happily sold us heavily priced European goods.
