Should Trump purchase Canada?

Language IS culture
Yes, it is. I am jaded from world history on reasons people kill each other. Language is not a positive in that regard when it happens.

Sure, Canada is a part of England.

Canada HAS never been "part of England". But you don't even know your own history so why would I expect you to know ours. Initially were were a British Colony, just like you were. But when you decided to declare independence, in 1776, the British only succeeded in defeating the French on the Plains of Abraham in 1758, so Canada was still busy becoming the unified nation of Canada, which included Upper Canada (Ontario) Lower Canada (Quebec) and the Maritime Provinces.

In 1867, Canada became an independent nation, under the British North America Act (our first Constitution). In the late 1970's Pierre Elliott Trudeau undertook to rewrite and repatriate the Constitution.

Donald Trump wants to take over a nation of 40 million people, all of whom will vote out anyone who messes with their health care, and 80% of whom think Trump is a total idiot????

Yeah, he really is dumb enough to try it.

Perhaps you should complete the invasion of Mexico before looking at Canada.?
And the Greenland purchase as well.
Crazy fuckers.

Mexico is not a land of English speakers. But what the hell, we can go along with your suggestion.

As I said, if Canada sees value in being part of the US, allow it to freely join the USA.

A question is on the forum about making Canada a State? I have a stronger question. Should Trump purchase Canada and have the citizens there divide it into a number of states? I would not want Canada to suffer being purchased by the USA and deny their citizens the right to select what becomes states. It would turn out ugly to impose that on Canada. So Canada can decide to be part of the United States and Trump by public will can hand them money for the purchase.
Would you oppose owning Canada? If you are in a hurry, spool this video to close to the end. Say around 16:30 minutes.

We already got stuck with Toro.

Haven't we suffered enough?

Canada has a King today, that is the King of England, Charles III.

If you are really Canadian you understand that the King does have a significant role in Canada's government.

I bet you could read all about it by doing a simple search, like "king of canada"

No, Canada is not part of England, but it is part of the British Commonwealth of Nations:

  • Independence
Canada gained more autonomy over time and became independent from the United Kingdom. The Constitution Act of 1982 ended Canada's dependence on the Parliament of Westminster and made Canada completely independent.

  • Commonwealth
Canada is a member of the Commonwealth, an association of independent countries that were once part of the British Empire. The Commonwealth's mandate is to support its member governments and citizens in political, economic, and social development.

    • Head of state
Canada's head of state is King Charles III, who is also the head of state of the United Kingdom. Canada's head of government is the prime minister.

    • Citizenship
Canadian citizens have not been British subjects since 1977, but they still have some privileges in UK immigration law.

    • Collaboration
Canada and the UK work together in international organizations to promote shared values and address global challenges.
if we bought canada who do we pay??

Canada still has another country's monarch on their currency. That looks more like a colony than anything else.

That’s not what Donald Trump is proposing. Donald Trump is proposing “annexing Canada”. Just declaring Canada part of the USA. No voting involved.

Notice how you don’t have to build a wall to keep Canadians from sneaking into the USA. If we wanted to live in the USA, we would be living there already.

Despite what Americans might think, Canadians have zero interest in becoming part of the USA

The King has no role in Canadian government. The Governor General, who is King’s representative in Canada, signs legislation into law. The GG is selected by the governing party, in this case, the Liberal party, not the King.

Only a complete idiot continues to prattle on about a country and a system of government he knows almost nothing about.

You don’t even know how your own country’s government functions much less anybody else’s

I have not made claims such as Canada wants to be part of the United States. I believe the media here in America has blown this far out of the way Trump thinks. I would welcome Canada to join the USA to give more power to both nations. If they don't want us, can they vote yes or no?

I think he means it has a picture of Da Queen on it (or used to).

For the record, Canada is a fully independent country, like Australia and New Zealand. It is also part of NATO and has never lost a war, including three against the US or rebels coming from the US.
In 1812 and the Revolutionary War, Canada was still part of Great Britain, and they lost.

You never pay any attention to the language that Trump uses and that’s where you go off the rails. There is a reason why he uses words like “annex”.

You clearly have not listen to the words to “American Woman”, and I strongly suggest you do. It was true in the 1970s when the Guess Who wrote it and it’s still true today. We don’t want your war machine, we done want your racialized ghettoes, we don’t want your guns or your racism. We like our healthcare, our infrastructure, and a government that spends our tax dollars on Canadians.

You can take your stupid ConMan President and shove him up your ass. Nobody up here will vote for anything you or Trump are selling.

We don’t have right wing radio in Canada telling us lies about what leftists.

Is it true that Canadians who live in Canada focus on living in an area perhaps 50 miles from the border with the USA?

... The Governor General, who is King’s representative in Canada, signs legislation into law
You just confirmed what I stated. King Charles III is the King of Canada. The Governor General is appointed by the Monarchy, which is the King.

Get very detailed if you like, the facts can not be disputed
