There is adultry and fornication, one is sex outside a marriage, the other is sex without the benefit of marriage both are considered.

What is sex without breaking a marriage?

With all due respect Zebra , isn’t sex outside of marriage a sin the Catholic Church and isn’t it that only in marriage is sex permitted?
.

As far as my understanding goes, yes.

Means nothing to me, since my one love has passed away, so I have no use for sex.

what did Saint Paul said about bishops?

when they should have a wife, then that goes also for priests.
I don't know----what did the highly neurotic Pual say about "bishots"----
what was a "bishot"?

i wrote bishops, not bishots
I am not only very old-----I have undergone surgery to my brain----
who knows that they pulled out and dropped on the Operating Room
floor. In any case. I am fascinated----what word did he use for Bishops?

It was the Catholic Church who decided priests couldn't marry which i believe led to so many of them becoming pedophiles. It takes a unique person to repress their sexual desires completely.

the original reason for compulsory celibacy was purely financial.
now that this reason has gone, forced celibacy should also go.

that explanation makes sense. Another ECONIMIC move in history was the
divestment of the tribe of LEVI of hereditary land-----make all of them dependent
on "contributions" -----the contributions were animal sacrifices.. Way back in Egypt
at that time of JOSEPH-----the story is that he saved Egypt by rendering contributions
of grain to the PRIESTS mandatory-----that move is supposed to have saved Egypt
from Famine. ---------uhm--------Hamas did not learn what to do with the massive
influx of money-----contributions-----they ate it all themselves

There is no reason for the Church to cling to outdated doctrine.
Make celibacy optional. Maybe have a religious order where they still maintain a celibate lifestyle.

Marriage and children are part of living.
Allow priests and nuns to have a normal life.
Every other religion does

Why should you care? Don't you want the Church to fade away? So maybe this position isn't in the best interest of the Church. Maybe this position will make it fade away faster and that's why you support it.
