Your question is “Should cellphones be banned in schools

Yes

No

No but only for emergencies

So they should ban cell phones during emergencies?
What is the emergency where kid's need cell phones in school today ? Oh I know... It's the emergency we created when we let leftist ideology and thinking highjack not only our school's, but our families and communities also.

I say yes but only for emergencies. You can have your phone with you but turned off.

Yeah, like these kids today are going to turn their phones off. They will just have it on vibration mode most of the day in school. As they scroll to Tiktok in the middle of every class.

What’s the scenario where them not having their phone immediately as soon as school is over is detrimental to the child?
Inability to communicate with parents as to when they need to be picked up, to inform parents that they have a meeting or activity and will be later coming home or are going to so and so's house or whatever. All sorts of scenarios could be a factor. We have become a society that has become dependent on such mobile communication and because the world is so much more dangerous place for the kids in these times, such communication is more important now than it was when I was a kid.

I can't edit now.

Well school shootings for one.
And where did that trend come from ? We all know what has happened in this country, but Americans are using their children in a way that ignores the problem, and does nothing but explode it even worse than it has ever been, but denial is still king.

Maybe P-Diddy can show America the error of it's ways (pffft). Nah, that'll be ignored also. The devil covers for his own.

True, but it worked before and it can work again. First thing is to give school choice a chance, and then vette the teachers rigorously to ensure they are on the same page with the majority of parent's, and not allow a radical parent to try and upset the apple cart because they are freaking crazy or to allow a teacher to go rogue because they are freaking crazy..

Teachers should be rigorously vetted to begin with regardless of phone policy. Parents who are a danger or who neglect their children should not be allowed to have custody of them.

But I don't see how that factors into kids being able to use their phones when they have completed their school day.

Won't work.. Have you experienced the youth of today, and attempted to derail or take from them the modern thing's of this world(?), otherwise it's because the technology has been found to be dangerous, influential in a bad way or corrupting too the mind.

If we could trust and vette those dealing with the children, and make sure that they are provided with the building blocks needed to achieve their dream's, then we as parent's could relax once again.

After all that has developed under leftist liberal ideologies, leaving the children to modern technological devices without proper supervision is a fools game.
If I was running the school, it would not only work but it would be the policy.

1 The world isn’t more dangerous. It’s far less dangerous actually. Violent crime is almost half what it was in the 90s. The cellphone and interconnectivity just makes it seem more dangerous. 30 years ago you didn’t hear about every random crime that happens all across the country. Now you do.

2. School gets out at the same time every day. If a parent is waiting for a phone call to come pick them up the 2 minute walk to their locker or the location where cellphones are stored during school hours won’t make a difference.

3. See above. What difference does 2 minutes make if they have to tell their parents about any of the bullshit you listed?

Completed their school day is the opportune statement. Yes I agree.

They should be locked up in their lockers while school is in session. They could be allowed to get them out during lunch, and then put back into the locker until school
gets out. 👍

When I was in school, kids could walk home from school in perfect safety. High schoolers had rifles and shotguns in gun racks in their pickups in the school parking lot but it never occurred to anybody ever that somebody would start shooting people in the school. And most students don't have absolute school schedules because of other activities. But we can agree to disagree.

I wouldn't allow them during lunch hour. Use that time to develop social skills in actually having conversations with people.

Any reason why your obnoxious brats shouldn't get the fuck off my lawn?

What emergency? If you have an emergency, you call 911. The school doesn't have a phone?
