Why is it that the federal government amazingly found the money tree when it came to supporting Ukraine, and the talk about supporting it for as long it takes, but Americans have undoubtedly been lied to for year's when it came to a federal minimum wage stagnation, and the stagnation of social security benefits for seniors over 65 year's old in this country ?

The citizens should be totally outraged at our federal government for not keeping our social security solvent and in an updated state of review that helps the senior's deal better with inflation and cost of living changes.

As far as minimum wage goes, I ask why in the hell are we still at 7.25 an hour nation wide per the federal government since 2009 ? By now that number should have at least increased to $10.00 dollars an hour in 2024.

Think about it folks, let's say you make 40 hours at 7.25 an hour, and that's before taxes. That's only $290.00 dollars before taxes. The only hope a person has to survive after a 40 hour week is to work two jobs if paid $7.25 an hour.
Now with these things said, I am for a meritocracy, but I'm not for exploitation of worker's or seniors because the numbers are being set to low.

Actually, federal minimum wage in the District of Columbia now is $17.00/hour.
Hmm, that's weird because Google said it was still 7.25 an hour, and has been since 2009.

Maybe I looked it up wrong. Hmm 🤔

That sounds awful. How many people currently earn the federal minimum wage?

Not sure, but many states have the minimum set above that meagar amount, but some state's unfortunately have it set right on the federal number or so I've noticed.

Because the inbred, drug addled, pedophiles in Washington DC only see American's as livestock meant to be juiced for taxes and sent to die in wars that, were real people not dying, would be comical. There's no voting your way out of this. Many Republicans cling to outdated ideas about trickle down economics, and Democrats simply don't really care to do anything beyond paying lip service to the issue.

Let the market decide wages, scrap minimum wage. Sad state of affairs, but some folk are not worth minimum wage and some are worth more. Free up the wage budget.

For example, you employ two guys and let's say minimum wage is $10. As you're building up the company in tough times, that's your max wage budget. But one guy is worth $8 and the other guy $12.

Workers start off at minimum wage. They don’t stay there.

Nope, you're right.

In the United States, the minimum wage is set by the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), which is enforced by the U.S. Department of Labor's Wage and Hour Division:
  • Federal minimum wage: The federal minimum wage is $7.25 per hour.
  • State minimum wage laws: Many states have their own minimum wage laws, which can provide greater employee protections.
  • Compliance: If an employer is subject to both federal and state minimum wage laws, they must comply with the higher standard.

The FLSA does not provide procedures for collecting or paying wages or commissions that are higher than what the FLSA requires. However, some states allow employees to file claims for such wages.

What about companies that look to use the number's in a corrupt way, otherwise that seeks to exploit worker's for greed purposes ? Does the employee have proper representation at the department of labor ? I say no, otherwise have you read the guidelines or statement on that website ? See yourself as one of these citizen's being stuck and abused by their company, and then look for possible assistance at the Department of labor website. Otherwise just read in a scenario, and then seek to remedy it at the website. I saw it as pro-employer mostly, and anti-employee in most case's.

Do you agree with senior citizen's not being treated fairly, and in some cases even being abused by the system ?

I just think that the federal minimum is outdated, and needs updated to at least $10.00 dollar's an hour in 2024-2025.

🥱

Your arguments are predicated on unsupported and, often, just plain silly premises.
