Forced separation of any family, on it's face and from a personal standpoint, is indeed a terrible thing. That being said your side's desire to tear apart the country over it instead of urging your representative's vote to fix it and prioritization of their plight over the safety of your own family, is unpatriotic and frankly, disappointing in a fellow citizen.

Then again, since your side cheers the dismemberment of unborn children, you really never had solid ground to preach from, ever. Had planned parenthood proliferated more wildfire like in Central America you'd have no border kids to weaponize for political currency. So which lives matter most?

Conditions are horrendous for over a billion people. They all think they should come here.
