Zone1 Russian EMP capabilities......why aren't we taking this seriously?

Millions wouldn't recover...they would die slow deaths...........thousands might survive...but they would be very different people.....and China and Russia would then have their way with the world.......
Only if we didn't attack back, but that's not going to be the case, so everyone loses.

It's always a temptation to attribute Total Evil to our adversaries.

Hollywood movies and TV productions -- which is where most people get their unconscious world-view from -- encourages this: James Bond/Clint Eastwood/Rambo vs Dr Evil, who lives in secret hideout under a volcano on an island.

They're not doing this to follow some political agenda. It's how story-tellers have always framed the world, going back to before Gilgamesh. It's how their listeners like to think about things: nice and simple. Good vs Evil. Good Us vs Evil Them, whether 'Them' was the tribe in the next valley, or the Russians/Chinese/Americans/British/Communists/Capitalists ...

Real life is not like that. George Soros is not Dr Evil. Donald Trump is not Dr Evil. And the Chinese Communist Party are not a collective Dr Evil. Vladimir Putin is not Dr Evil.

All of these entities may do things which we can justly call 'evil'. But they, and their followers, don't get together at celebratory dinners and eat roasted babies while toasting Satan and cackling about how much suffering they're causing.

Anyone who seriously entertains the idea that Mr Xi called a meeting of the Communist Party Central Committee, or even their equivalent of the Politburo, and said ... "Paying these pensions is getting to be a burden. We should be spending the money on developing new weapons to wipe out Western Civilization. Now I've got an idea .. we'll develop a virus that will mainly kill off all our elderly people, and then ..." ...
if you seriously think this, you need to ... think again.

It may have been a leak from one of their bio-warfare labs. This has happened before, in other countries.

Of course, to believe this two years ago meant, according to all the 'experts', that you were a crazy rightwing conspiracy theorist. But now it appears that the FBI has joined the crazy rightwing conspiracy theorists! What's a good liberal to do ... surely the FBI, prosecuting rightwing 'terrorists', was on side of the Righteous?

In any case, we're not going to learn anything from the Chinese government, who believe in manipulating the news even more than our mainstream media does.

Here's what we can say: there will be more pandemics, maybe even worse. And this, independently of whether or not Dr Evils deliberately start them.

And our government will not be a source of reliable information about how to deal with them.

So patriots had better prepare. Things we have taken for granted all our lives -- if you need some toilet paper, just shoot down to the convenience store and buy some -- may suddenly be upended. Almost all of us are totally dependent on a complex system for our electricity, water, food, gasoline ... and that complex system is vulnerable at multiple points to acts of nature, or acts of ill-intentioned people.

It costs practically nothing in terms of time and money to be able to have a reserve that could see your and your family through an initial shock. Even better to have organized with your nearby friends to be able to give each other mutual support, and take advantage of the division of labor/specialization that any group of a couple of dozen people will have.

Some people who seem to know what they're doing can be found here: https://YCPT.org -- where there are lots of free resources.

One thing you aren't considering in it all..

And that is this -

This is America, the most rich natural resource harboring nation in the world, and we can turn within to supply and feed ourselves anytime we're willing to do so again. It's the lie's and globalist control freak's that are using propaganda to make us think that we are at the edge of the cliff, and that just an easy breeze can literally blow us over the edge.

We have got to get a grip, and realize that this nation can support us without any outside help, but of course we want trade or bartering with our friend's around the world, but we should never place ourselves in a position to think that if the outside has got us over a barrel, then we can't turn within without suffering badly.

It's not true, we just have got to recognize who our real propagandist are in this nation, and fire their aces in a hurry.

I happen to agree with you. I don't see how anything I said contradicts this.

The people pushing for 'globalization' don't want to destroy us. It's just economics -- they -- our very wealthy elite -- seem to have decided that the world has changed so profoundly, that they can turn the military into a Social Justice Laboratory cum Freak Show, teach the upcoming generations to despise their own country, abolish the concept of objective truth in the universities, teach our medical students that Shaman-magic is on a par with modern scientific medicine, do away with entry exams for the top schools, stop making literacy and numeracy requirements for a high school diploma .. ...

... I don't understand it. But I know that George Soros and Bill Gates and Satan don't sit down every week and cackle with glee as they watch us go down. (Soros and the surviving Koch brother have jointly started a Think Tank, the Quincy Institute for Responsible Statecraft, that will try to counter the crazy neo-con/neo-liberal blob in Washington that thinks it's still 1960 and we must dominate the world.

Have a look here: [ Home - Quincy Institute for Responsible Statecraft ]

I don't understand what's happening to America. The ship is listing more and more ... the ashtrays are sliding across the table. Our rulers seem to be unconcerned about this.

I don't know why but I know it's not some sort of Great Conspiracy by the Kazarian Illuminati Vatican Lizard People. There must be a rational explanation.

Reading suggestions welcomed.

The rational explanation is that the radical left has made itself powerful through the nefarious usage of our very powerful media machine's, and it has taken over our fine institution's for grooming and indoctrinating our youth eventually adding them into their ranks.... It is pushing a radical agenda at all cost in America.

Yes, this is absolutely right.

But the question is, why did this happen? Why now? Our country has existed for two and a half centuries ... we've had a radical Left in it for well over a century.

When we had a big economic crisis, that Left grew much stronger: by the late 1930s, the CPUSA had over 50 000 members, and was leading 11 national trade unions, 1/3 of the CIO. It also made serious headway among our intellectuals and intelligentsia -- thus the atom bomb spies.

But we recoiled from that, and the 1950s saw a big pushback (very rough and ready, with excesses, but the fact was, normal, average America, liberal and conservative, did not want Communism).

Liberals like to blame McCarthy for everything, but the anti-Communist pushback -- for example, loyalty oaths -- began under President Truman. The most draconian anti-Communist legislation ever passed -- surely unConstitutional, if it had been actually implemented -- was the Communist Control Act of 1954, co-authored by one Hubert Humphrey, the closest thing we had to a Scandanavian social-democrat in Congress. It passed unanimously. [Communist Control Act of 1954 - Wikipedia]

But now there is no pushback. Or rather, it embraces only the conservative side of America. (There are some honest liberals and even hard Leftists who don't like what's happened to their own side, but they're a small minority.)

An analogy: the air is filled with bacteria and viruses and spores from fungi. For a normal healthy human being, they're no problem. Our immune system deals with them. But if our immune system is weakened for some reason ... watch out!

America's immune system has been weakened, if not destroyed altogether. Why?

The 60s generation of young 'intelligentsia' (more or less equal to college grads) become deeply disillusioned with America. Even if they didn't become activist radicals -- of whom there were about 100 000 by the end of the 1960s, which was the membership numbers of SDS (Students for a Democratic Society), they became cynical about America and its institutions.

Then they got jobs as teachers, professors, journalists, government employees[ including, in their second generation, in the FBI and CIA!] , entertainers, communicators ... and their weakened political 'immune systems' left them open to being influenced by much more radical types. It wasn't a conscious conspiracy.

[There is a very interesting book by a leftwing socialist, Katie Roche, called Idiots - How Identity Politics is Destroying the Left- she has a plausible analysis of the 'woke' generation born in the 90s -- basically, they're soft. Raised by doting 'helicopter parents', shielded from unpleasantness, totally entitled. Probably something to it.]

But that's not the whole story, I'm sure. What happened in the 1990s is also important: we thought we were the world's sole superpower and could remake the world in our image -- a benevolent impulse.

Bring liberal democracy to the warring tribes of the Middle East and Central Asia.

Break up the Russian Empire via economic "shock therapy" without a Marshall Plan to cushion the transition (as we did for the Poles). Interfere openly in the Russian presidential elections to make sure our candidate won. Bring Ukraine into NATO so that the Russians will freak out.

And globalize our economy: the free market, right? If those refrigerators could be made cheaper in China or Mexico than in Indiana, so be it. Let those assembly line workers re-train as website designers, ha ha ha. And for nasty work that had to be done here -- picking strawberries or gutting chickens -- bring in the illegals. Who cares what happens to our own working class?

And ... it was the Republicans at the forefront of this: globalize the economy, and evangelize the globe. But the Democrats went along with it.

This set the stage for Mr Trump. Our silly leftists just see him as the emanation of evil. They don't understand the social circumstances that produced him. (With some exceptions: Michael Moore understood., and there are some smart Leftist professors who do as well: check out one Michael Lind's book, The New Class War.) [ Michael Lind - Wikipedia ] (Lind is probably the best critic of American conservatism you'll ever find.)

This isn't the whole story. We need to look at how civilizations end -- we another Glubb. Because that's what's happening. [ John Bagot Glubb - Wikipedia ]

Whoa, another term paper. Maybe one or two people will read it, and, hopefully reply.

Setting aside the history of commies in the US and globalism and the effect on the middle class for a moment. Some see Trump as a continuation of a trend that began with Watergate.

Post WW2 Americans were happy with Washington and picked D.C. insiders for the top spot. Ike was a military man but also very much a D.C. insider. JFK, LBJ, Nixon. All Washington insiders.

Then Watergate. Americans got a bit disillusioned with D.C., Vietnam sure didn't help....

Americans started looking to the States. We elected Governors- people who were experienced political executives, but not from from D.C. Reagan, Carter, Clinton, G.W. Bush. George H.W. Bush is the exception, he was a D.C. insider, but he campaigned as Reagan's third term.

The party that ran the Senator was the party that lost the election. But things were not going all that well, and Obama comes along. No political experience, and not a D.C. insider. He was "fresh", and his stint in the Senate was used to make political connections and position himself for the run at the Oval. He avoided all controversial votes so there would be no attacks based on his voting record, and he ran as an outsider.

Trump was a continuation of that. Not a D.C. insider, not a politician at all. Another "personality", and campaigned as the guy who would do everything different. Which he tried to do, but bureaucratic inertia, and there are more than one way to "impeach" a President you don't like...

Biden is the anomaly- A D.C. insider and politician for 50 years, who couldn't draw a crowd for love or money on the campaign trail.

That's how some people see it anyway... :stir:

Yes, that sounds right, although the 'insider'/'outsider' thing is a reflection of something more profound.

I recall the Left going bananas over Richard Nixon -- a 'fascist' --, and then over Ronald Reagan, also a 'fascist'. And the super-bananas over Bush II. I don't recall the same level of hysteria from the Right over JFK, or Carter or Clinton. Maybe, a bit, over Obama.

It's the attack on the "culture", I think, that has really got the Right fired up. Not any particular law or act by a Democratic President or Congress. And by "culture" I mean the unconscious, taken-for-granted assumptions about the society/country we live in.

To take just one small example, which is a perfect illustration of the differences between us:

In 1953, Julius and Ethel Rosenberg were executed for espionage. They were Soviet spies.
Here's the Wiki summary about them:
Julius Rosenberg (May 12, 1918 – June 19, 1953) and Ethel Rosenberg (née Greenglass; September 28, 1915 – June 19, 1953) were an American couple who spied for the Soviet Union. They provided top-secret information about American radar, sonar, jet propulsion engines, and valuable nuclear weapon designs. Convicted of espionage in 1951, they were executed by the federal government of the United States in 1953 at Sing Sing Correctional Facility in Ossining, New York, becoming the first American civilians to be executed for such charges and the first to receive that penalty during peacetime.

Other convicted co-conspirators were sentenced to prison, including Ethel's brother, David Greenglass (who had made a plea agreement), Harry Gold, and Morton Sobell. Klaus Fuchs, a German scientist working in Los Alamos, was convicted in the United Kingdom.

For decades many people including the Rosenbergs' sons (Michael and Robert Meeropol) maintained that Julius and Ethel were innocent of spying on their country and were victims of Cold War paranoia. The extent of the Rosenbergs' activities came to light, however, when the U.S. government declassified information about them after the fall of the Soviet Union. This declassified information included a trove of decoded Soviet cables (code-name: Venona), which detailed Julius's role as a courier and recruiter for the Soviets, and information about Ethel's role as an accessory who helped recruit her brother David into the spy ring and did clerical tasks such as typing up documents that Julius then passed to the Soviets.

Now, if you had told anyone in 1953 that, about 60 years later, elected Democrats would pass a resolution honoring them --- you would have been assumed to be mad.

I've mentioned this astonishing incident several times, hoping that the Leftists/Democrats here will comment. They never do. (One did, trying in an unserious way to imply that the New York City councillors were somehow a tiny unrepresentative fringe. Uh huh.)

I suppose some of them don't comment because they think it was a good thing, and others are embarrassed by it and would just like everyone to forget about it.

Imagine if the Republican city council of a Red State had passed a resolution honoring the German spies executed during WWII. The Left would explode.

And that's why we are nasty to each other. We're not arguing over whether or not to raise the minimum wage, or run a deficit this year. It's not Eisenhower vs Stevenson or Nixon vs JFK or Carter vs Reagan. All those men loved this country (and all of them served in the military during WWII.)

It's really like two countries at war. Yes, still in a dry legal sense, we are all Americans. But one set of Americans loves this country, despite its flaws, and the other set has contempt for it, despite its virtues.

The first set have an intuitive understanding that if this country, not just its government but, even more importantly, its institutions, pass permanently into the hands of those who honor people who helped Joseph Stalin acquire the technology to kill us ... that we won't have a country for long.

Yes, this is absolutely right.

Simple answer... We are living in the last days. However no one knows the time nor the hour, but the signs can be read if we understand them in the parable verses. Just as a famer waits upon the latter rains to then rain upon his crop's, it is that we are to be that patient also.

Behold for our time draweth more near, and we shall look to the signs of our time's with great anticipation in these latter days.

Blessed be his name our merciful Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.. Amen.

Care to link us specifically to those quotes or speeches ? Thanks.

U.S. not backing up it's allie's ? Oh you mean those allie's we just so happen to have shady trade and business deals with, although we are lacking big time on having mutual value's and morals that we might all agree upon in which makes us these so called die for each other as allie's in life types of relationships that once defined our relationships ???

Where in the heck have you been ? Living under a rock ??? Do you realize how deplorable and disgusting we've become as a nation ? If anyone does stand with each other in the world today, it won't be because of anyone's value's and morals. That type of thing has since left the building.

Care to Google up all of them yourself? His UN speech in 2008 wasn't even the first.

Their leadership could.....and as we saw with the Chinese Flu....they engineered a virus that targeted the old.......old people are a major problem for China.......

They have so many people they still have to be careful about enraging the masses; killing all the old people off is not something they would engineer, it's much more of a right wing thing here in the U.S. and among indoctrinated young Democrats to kill all the old people off if their net worth falls below an acceptable wealth level than it is in Asia.

FIB blockheads :th_BlackHelicopter:still red from the embarrassment of All America laughing at their stupid asses last week over the White (brown, illegal) supremacist who drove a u-haul into a WH barricade with only a nazi flag and what looked like a murse in the back are now warning us of an attack on our power grid (EMP) by .....wait for it.......RW EXtremists or, Or OR...Tha Russians.

Yes friends these .:asshole:'s.....would shut down our own power grid if it meant retaining their power and covering their corrupt asses for another week.:th_BlackHelicopter:
