I spent a bunch of years stationed up north with a few hundred hours of flight time up and over the Cap and all over the place. I was on a flight that was even intercepted by 3 Mig-25s once,, one on each wing tip and the other was out of visual range (directly behind with weapons cold). We go from here on this discussion.

As you all know, I want anyone but Rump as President so I won't be taking his side. But he doesn't have a side in this. This isn't politics and it certainly isn't a game. Well, not a game that most of you are aware of. But it's a game that's been played by both sides for the last 80 years.

One fell off and we did a very tight 180 in that direction and headed out until we picked up a flight of F-4s who escorted us home. Due to a malfunction and the fact we had just come off the Cap, we were "Lost". To the Russians and the US less than 100 feet is normally not dangerous. To the chinese, less than 10 feet is questionable.

Signal "You may proceed" according military interception signalling. But treating strategic bomber like a civilian plane is really disrespectful.

I've seen this more than once. The waggle of the wings means I see you, you see me. And then the fighter lights it up and gets in front of the other bird and disappears meaning "You are mine if I wanted". The Weapons were left cold. It's a standard method by both sides.
