It was the original understanding and intent of the Founding Generation that the rulings of the Federal courts would be the law of the land, with the states subordinate and subject to Federal laws and the decisions of the Federal courts.

Residents of the states are first and foremost citizens of the United States, their inalienable rights safeguarded from the capricious whims of the states, including the right to privacy.

I believe so. And gay marriage is a fine example of the leftist conundrum. They lost over and over and over when the question of homosexual marriage went up before the people. So they did what they like to do...overturned the will of the people. But a Trump/Pence court is likely to revisit that.

Damn, you're full of shit. The States are the supreme sovereigns, that's why only the States can amend the Constitution. Hell if 3/4ths of the States decided to, they could abolish the Supreme court or limit their authority. And there's not a damn thing anyone in the federal govt. could do about it.
