Responsible SNAP Budget

Probably one of the smaller GOVT programs to go after for Fraud....but every little bit helps.

I would hope other things are being tackled also? Just a snapshot below of GRANTS.

And add $1.5T more to the National Debt? No thanks,

Sorry, that's on your cult.
35 billion jackass. Trump wants to give more than that to Argentina

The EBT cards are used like credit cards. Same as cash though limited to certain things.
That’s false. Both SNAP and TANF are loaded onto EBT cards… only TANF and not SNAP funds can be drawn off them for cash

Even LW Google AI can't lie enough to cover you. $150B per year for 10 years. $110B for ACA right away. Do you think we want to pay 20 million at $110B/yr for health care? That is over $5K per person per year? WTH?

Here's the context:
  • A government shutdown was ongoing or actively threatened during this period (September-November 2025).
  • Republicans proposed a "clean" continuing resolution (CR) to fund the government temporarily at current levels.
  • Democrats, led by Schumer and House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries, put forward their own counter-proposal for a short-term funding bill.
  • Republicans characterized the Democrats' proposal as a "partisan wish list" or "ransom note" containing an estimated $1.5 trillion in new or expanded spending over a decade. This included provisions such as repealing health spending cuts from prior legislation (costing about $1.1 trillion over a decade), extending enhanced Affordable Care Act subsidies, and funding for healthcare for undocumented immigrants.
  • Republicans argued that Democrats were holding the government hostage by insisting on these provisions rather than passing a "clean" CR, and thus were to blame for the shutdown.
  • Democrats, in turn, argued their proposal was to protect healthcare programs and that Republicans were the ones risking a shutdown by refusing to negotiate.
In summary, the figure of $1.5 trillion refers to the total potential spending increase over a decade within the Democratic proposal, not a single lump sum that Schumer demanded as a "ransom" to immediately end the shutdown.

Sorry, the bill your cult put on the table was $1.5T
That’s false

But hey. Prove me wrong . Post a link.

Here’s a clue… the extension we are talking about is 35 B per year so don’t give us any other figures

That would be dishonest. You’re not dishonest are you?

SNAP you pants shut and stop creating so many hungry, fatherless and ultimately violent children

You don't read well do you. I said nothing about any cash being drawn off anything.

SNAP cleanup has nothing to do with the Shutdown. That was all Schumer demanding $1.5T over ten years for ACA and LGBTQ crap.

The ACA extension is not the anove. And THAT is the hurdle that is shutting down the government

Slurp up my funding of your tired ass life on social security. Boomer = Commies. They have the rest of us paying for their miserable lives.
Well, that's stupid.
Social Security is the government giving back to retirees the money that they took out of their checks < every single check before the worker even saw his check. Then the government stole that money and are now stealing from the younger generations to give to the ones they stole from first, a pittance of what they owe them. And started calling it an entitlement, so people like you would think that the retired worker is just asking for a hand out.

If you even have a job, look at how much they are stealing from you now...

I believe you posted “same as cash”. Given that other posters were claiming you could draw cash off SNAP Bennie’s I felt it was necessary to clarify

You do want accuracy in this discussion right?

Maybe they can't sell the cards for cash as they take an ID to verify payment (I would hope)? But as shown above they can buy other peoples stuff for cash. A dirty market (yes they exist lol!) can give them cash for the card balance and let them buy Booze off the books. I know I know.........its' only a $1000/mo or so times 10 million persons only $100B fraud, not important.

"In all, the Democratic demands would add significant costs, including $350 billion over 10 years for extending the Obamacare subsidies set to expire at the end of the year and about $1 trillion over a decade for restoring the GOP’s healthcare cuts."

You are foaming at the mouth again, making no sense. Yes, Schumer shut the GOVT over $1.5T total demands (over ten years).

The result: SNAP payments got shut off because they are closed down? What part is not clear?

15th post
Sure they would. A mother with three little kids? She’d have left over, as my OP showed: after everything I listed, she’d still have $200 - and that’s with HALF the SNAP.

And remember…..this was set up as a “supplement”. It was not intended to give people enough to buy all the food they need, or want.

It’s just that libtards have made the payouts so high that people now ***** of it doesn’t cover all their food on their wish list.

Try it out on yourself.

$350B over ten years. (NOT 1.5 trillion)

That’s 35 Billion

Less than Trump wants to give Argentina

In the interest of accuracy I don't speak for other posters. I speak for myself. And yes, when you use a credit card, it is essentially the same as spending cash for whatever it is you are buying.

Only dishonest people try to twist that into something else, especially by taking it out of context.

Hunger is a great incentive to work. I've always said that the MAXIMUM welfare benefit including SNAP, section eight housing and everything else should be a dollar less than the net minimum wage salary for 160 hours of work.

Most SNAP recipients do work.

I realize this conflicts with the stereotype you want to believe.

I worked full time during the brief period I needed to assistance.
