Why should the American public have to pay extra for his protection when he is sentenced to prison? If he is in danger, he will be placed in protective custody.

That's the law. And, let's face it - it is not as if the orange douchebag is going to be sentenced to a max security prison like Rikers Island or Folsom.

Most probably he would be sent to some country-club prison to serve out his sentence. He would be doing the same thing in prison that he did while at the WH. Goof off and play golf.

Bennie Thompson's bill is unconstitutional because it destroys the separation of powers between all branches of government--executive, legislative, and judicial. He is suggesting rule by legislation and the courts. Didn't Mr. Thompson take an Oath of office that guarantees the people he would obey the Constitution? Well, if he goes through the already poisonous situation, he is destroying the Constitution by way of silencing a President. And he did it by disrespecting the American Presidential branch of office. "Unfortunately, current law doesn't anticipate how Secret Service protection would impact the felony prison sentence of a protectee — even a former President," Thompson, a Mississippi Democrat, said in a statement released by his office. "It is regrettable that it has come to this, but this previously unthought-of scenario could become our reality."
