Renewables made up 92% of new generating capacity in the U.S. in the first half of 2021

Funny how the environmental damage caused by the mining of lithium and cobalt, to name just two minerals, doesn't faze leftoids. Even child labor in the Congo for cobalt doesn't bother them, I guess little black children doing that mining really isn't upsetting to them.

Another damned hypocrite. Before the use of cobalt in EV batteries, you said not a word about cobalt mining. And they were doing plenty of it then. And now, with the advent of many new types of batteries, cobalt is going to be used in very few of them. Much too expensive. LFP and a lot of others do not use any cobalt.

Wind: Zero when the wind is insufficient.

Solar: Depends on how much cloud cover, and none after sunset until sunrise.

Meanwhile, they're tearing down hydroelectric dams. Many for the sake of salmon runs and American Indians. Yes, leftoid stupidity knows no bounds.

Guess you have never heard of grid scale storage. Sure has worked well for South Australia when their coal fired plants failed.

QUICKDRAW TESLA

The mega battery Tesla installed in South Australia has once again proven its worth by protecting a grid from a coal plant failure, according to reporting from Renew Economy. What’s even more impressive is that the battery was activated in mere milliseconds, even before the coal plant in question was finished going offline. The Tesla battery was able to respond, stabilize the grid, and finally go back offline before the backup generator contracted to do the same even finished starting up.

Tesla’s massive 100MW/129MWh lithium-ion battery officially came online at the beginning of December. Its implementation was a response to a series of blackouts over the summer of 2016 — meaning it was designed to handle events just like this. The region gets 40 percent of its electricity from wind farms, which is an excellent utilization of renewable energy. Yet the wind is not always blowing, so contingency plans need to be put in place when the supply does not meet demand. The battery allows power to be collected at non-peak times for use when that demand reaches beyond the amount of power that is actively being supplied to the grid.

How're those renewables working out in Europe?

Hmmm?

And? China is #1 polluter, we are #2, India is #3. We are in no position to throw stones. And China is putting in way more wind and solar than we are, and also planting more forests than the rest of the world put together. Yes, they definitely need to reduce their fossil fuel use. But so do we.

Putin is as big a fool as Trump. Russia has vast resources totally untapped. And they are spending money trying to re-establish an empire they never could hold together. In the meantime, they are aggressing the West, and China is setting there, looking at Siberia, salivating.

“This is the domino effect we need to fear. But electricity will be expensive, there’s going to be a cost to pay.

I keep telling folks my trade IS the most $$$ fuel, and they think i'm a moonbat.....~S~

I took this picture on February 14, 2021 of the Rawhide Generating Station in Northern Colorado. It was the coldest day on record that late in winter in Cheyenne. There was no wind and the wind turbines were all shut down due to icing, and the solar panels were covered with snow. The power plant is being shut down due to Colorado climate neuroses and the solar array has destroyed huge tracks of land where I used to film Pronghorns.

That's Odd because they're SHUTTING DOWN their COAL plant by 2030 (16 Years Early) to be REPLACED by RENEWABLES.

Phony numbers created by Biden shutting down fossil fuel related energy production. Also nuclear needs to be part of future power generation, neither Party talks about it.
FRIST SENTENCE: FAKE POST ^^^. Too dumb to even be called an idiot-gram.

2ND SENTENCE: I agree, we need to begin to build the new generation of Nuclear Power.
