Remember when FOX blamed Obama for high gas prices?

I remember when gas prices were all that cowboy in the White House's fault according to the left. Ah partisanship at it's best.

Yepp, it's partisanship. And it's stupid. That is EXACTLY the point. That FOX changes the reasons for gas price rate hikes between BUSHGAS and OBAMAGAS is the point.

Thank you for supporting the OP.
You understand you didnt quote Fox saying anything, right? You just quoted some on air personalities.
You are so gullible, Herr Kind.

Guests who were PAID for by FOX, graphics that were put together by FOX personnel. And Varney and Dobbs are full-time employees of FOX. Stop making excuses for the obvious, your groveling before your FOX-God is really embarrassing for people to have to watch.

This poster is a proven liar. Proven wrong in his own thread..move along you have no credibility

Memories are so beautiful and yet.................

Remember how the left wing said that Obama had nothing to do with gasoline prices, it was a magical time.

Remember how the left wing said that supply had nothing to do with prices?

You don't need to remember for them to say the same thing about the Keystone pipeline.

Of course a drop now and them saying it was Obama's fault they were high are two different things. Maybe this drop proves Obama was the cause for an artificially high price.

And sometimes the way this gets sold is, let’s get this oil and it’s going to come here. And the implication is, is that’s going to lower gas prices here in the United States. It’s not. "You don't need to remember for them to say the same thing about the Keystone pipeline"

.

In Keystone’s weirdonomics, the pipeline would actually increase prices of gasoline for much of the country, according to at least three studies that have looked into it. Keystone would divert crude from Midwest refineries to Gulf Coast refineries, where it would then be shipped to more expensive markets. Bypassing heartland refineries could drive up prices at home.

"[P]roduction in the United States really does not matter much for the price of gas," wrote Dean Baker of the Center for Economic and Policy Research, who said that the U.S. could increase its output by a third without meaningfully reducing fuel prices. "Oil prices in the United States depend on the world market, not just supply and demand in the United States.” 3 gasoline Drilling for oil brought down prices.

For people living in the Midwest, Great Plains and Rocky Mountains, it could add 20 cents a gallon to the price at the pump.

The assumption underlying this is that there is indeed a discount on crude delivered to the mid-West. There’s so much of it floating around, there’s not enough pipeline capacity to send it elsewhere

Keystone Oil Pipeline Seen Raising Gas Prices in Midwest

Keystone Oil Pipeline Seen Raising Gas Prices in Midwest Energy - Bloomberg

September 17, 2009: According to TransCanada’s own analysis, the Keystone XL tar sands pipeline will be a boon for corporate profits, but a burden for American consumers.

TransCanada, in testimony to the Canadian National Energy Board, “Existing markets for Canadian heavy crude, principally [the US Midwest], are currently oversupplied, resulting in price discounting for Canadian heavy crude oil. Access to the [US Gulf Coast] via the Keystone XL Pipeline is expected to strengthen Canadian crude oil pricing in [the Midwest market] by removing this oversupply. This is expected to increase the price of heavy crude to the equivalent cost of imported crude.”

December 31, 2009: TransCanada admits Keystone XL would raise gas prices.

TransCanada submits its first permit application. In the appendix to its application to the Canadian National Energy Board, the company writes, “A Canadian heavy crude producer is expected to realize an increase in the heavy crude price of approximately $3.00 per barrel by avoiding a discount at the [United States Gulf Coast].

But wait, here is how FOX treated high gas prices in 2008, under the Bush administration:

(not a word blaming Bush for high gas prices)

At: 1:05 "No president has the power to increase or to lower gas prices".

Yepp, that's what that guest on FOX said. It is DELIGHTFUL to hear all of the excuses that FOX makes for high gas prices, but how dare anyone blame Bush for high gas prices in 2008! Suddenly, in 2009, after January 20th, it was all Obama's fault!! Delightful.

Didn't Varney say in a graphic above that LOW gas prices hurt our economy? But wait, he was also saying that HIGH gas prices hurt our economy, and of course, it was all Obama's fault:

And remember when FOX tried to scare us that gas would go up to $7 a gallon?

foxnation-reality-gas-prices.jpg

Yes, FOX pulled out all the stops and even brought in it's SMARTEST people to talk about OBAMAGAS prices:

Actually, this is not all that new, for you see, before Obama, FOX tried to pin this on, unbelievably, Nancy Pelosi:

Fox-blames-Nancy-Pelosi-for-High-Gas-Prices.jpg

"DEMS PICKED NANCY PELOSI" refers to her taking the Speaker's Gavel in January, 2007. So, at the same time that FOX news was twisting itself into a pretzel in order to make sure that Bush, Jr., an oil man, would not get blamed for soaring gas prices in 2008, FOX instead turned to the Steel Magnolia from San Francisco to blame.

This website compares Tim Graham and Neil Cavuto's treatment of gas prices under Obama as opposed to under Bush really quite well:

This website also does it's own pictorial history of how FOX treated Bushgas prices and then OBAMAGAS prices:

A Pictorial History Of Gas Prices As Presented By Fox News News Corpse

But now that OBAMAGAS prices are WAY, WAY, WAY down, here is the kind of stuff we see on FOX:

fbn-gascrisis.jpg

As OBAMAGAS prices first began to fall, FOX went immediately into "the economy is slowing" mode...

foxgaspricedrop3.jpg

"Why cheap gas isn't good".

Really? Tell that to the American driver.

In short, there are literally hundreds and hundreds of examples of FOX railing on the President for the cost of OBAMAGAS, the same FOX that protected Pres. Bush against any blame for high BUSHGAS prices in 2008.

Oh, and from YESTERDAY, Lou Dobb explains why OBAMAGAS is going down in price:

Why gas prices are falling On Air Videos Fox News
(the video is at the link)

00:40 "because, frankly, economies are slowing down across the world, specifically Europe, specifically China. As a result, less demand for oil, as a result..." (then interrupted by Bill O'Reilly)

1:52: (O'Reilly) "this makes the economy better... why...." (Dobbs:) "absolutely. Because you have greater production, cheaper fuel, which results in about $1,400 per household in extra disposable income. Remember, this is after tax - $1,400, and this is a big boost..." (O'Reilly)...... "a consumer driven economy, they (the people who are saving $1,400 a year on gas prices) are spending it in other places... and the entire economy lifts... so, Barack Obama, President Obama, he kind of lucked into this, didn't he?" (Dobbs:) "Uh, big time, and the result of fracking......."

So, there you have it: the President got lucky, that's all. But wait, Dobbs just said that lower OBAMAGAS prices are good for the economy. However, Neil Cavuto said in the same week that this is bad for the economy. Looks like the FOX-Coven needs to get it's story straight!!!

rightwinger - right up your alley!

I'm curious...can you name a single thing that Barry has done since taking office that would have led to lower energy prices? Because I can list a whole bunch of things that he's either done or proposed that would have led to much higher energy prices.

Bottom line...anyone in this Administration who tries to claim cheaper prices for gasoline or natural gas as something that THEY accomplished is laughably full of shit!

How Obama (and Bush) helped drive down oil prices

How Obama and Bush helped drive down oil prices - Yahoo Finance

The main factor in the recent price drop, DeHaan said, is a decision by OPEC countries not to cut production to drive up oil demand. OPEC believes the declining prices, left unabated, will make the production of shale oil unprofitable.

Bobby Scott Low gas prices are the result of Obama policies PolitiFact Virginia

Here are some of the other measures recently taken by the administration to boost domestic oil production, according to a recent White House factsheet:

* An increase in the sales of leases for oil and gas drilling on federal lands. In 2013, the Bureau of Land Management held 30 such sales—the most in a decade—offering 5.7 million acres for lease by industry.

* An increase in the speed with which permits are being issued for actual drilling on federal lands. What's called "processing time" has, the White House boasts, been cut from 228 days in 2012 to 194 days in 2013.

* The opening up of an additional 59 million acres for oil and gas drilling in the Gulf of Mexico, the site of a disastrous BP oil spill in April 2010.

Got it, you'll stick with YOUR opinion NOT based in reality or backed up with ANY credible links or sources...

Fracking drove oil prices down - it's just that simple:

"U.S. oil production could increase next year to levels not seen since the 1970s, despite OPEC's efforts to muscle out American shale producers."

Fracking technology has improved greatly over the last few years resulting in increased production - so yes this has had impact on declining gas prices.

""Only five or six years ago, wells used to take 70, 80, 90 days to compete. Today they take two weeks. That in itself is a huge accomplishment. The same rig instead of drilling one well, can drill four. Companies now know how to drill faster than ever before. They learned it in trial and error. Companies don't need as many rigs to drill as many holes in the ground and that in itself is a cost saving," he said."

Energy OPEC won t choke off US oil production growth

Obama wants to take credit for the US's increased energy independence but he can only do that by taking credit for increased oil and gas production that is largely due to fracking activities in the US.

Too funny.

What a maroon. Surplus oil on the market driven by OPEC refusing to cut production in the hope of killing off (Obama's?) fracking boom. The result is a huge drop in the price of oil.

Energy OPEC won t choke off US oil production growth

So NO, you can't point to ANYTHING US oil producers have done the last 6 months that caused gas prices to tumble. Thank you

Yes, many nations listened to conservatives and their economies are trailing the US economy (Edit: CAUSING less WORLD WIDE OIL demand). Yes, OPEC doesn't care to DECREASE their oil production to level out oil prices, AND? LOL

See liberals doing the equivalent of a three year old child closing Thier eyes and plugging their ears screaming nanana i can't hear you!!!!

"So NO, you can't point to ANYTHING US oil producers have done the last 6 months that caused gas prices to tumble. Thank you"

Ignorance can be remedied but it would seem that your problem goes much deeper. What advantage does OPEC gain from lower oil prices? OPEC could cut production in order increase the price of oil but it has opted to maintain production - why?

Energy OPEC won t choke off US oil production growth
I don't believe it's nearly as deep as naysayers suggest. OPEC is used to making money so if the increase in oil production elsewhere causes a drop in price they increase production to maintain their profit.
Would a gold miner stop minig his successful gold mine just because others have struck gold, driving the value down? No, he'd just mine for more.
Obama sucks and if he and his green sheeple weren't in the way we'd see prices for fossil fuel lower than ever and an economy booming like never before.

Delightful.

Typical FOX OBAMAGAS graphic in the last years:

Though not from FOX, this delightful billboard from Arizona is worth mentioning:

And this billboard, too:

And another FOX screenshot:

Welch said that Obama should tap our gas reserves.

Didn't Varney say in a graphic above that LOW gas prices hurt our economy? But wait, he was also saying that HIGH gas prices hurt our economy, and of course, it was all Obama's fault:

And remember when FOX tried to scare us that gas would go up to $7 a gallon?

7-gas.jpg

lol...

And of course, in an election year (2012):

foxnation-reality-gas-prices.jpg

MRC s Tim Graham and Neil Cavuto Compare Coverage of Gas Prices Bush vs. Obama on Fox News

In other words, global warming be damned!

How Obama Became the Oil President Mother Jones

Anyone who thinks that Barack Obama is the "Oil President" is so fucking stupid that they should be embarrassed to stick their name on the byline for an article like that! Mother Jones is a joke!

Got it, you'll stick with YOUR opinion NOT based in reality or backed up with ANY credible links or sources...
