Well, sure --- I read a YA book lately that had a pretty good magical plot and adventures in magic, and THEN, at the very END, the author comes out with ALLLLLLLLLLLL her characters have something wrong with them ---- and you never knew the whole book. One is black, two are miscegenating, two turn out to be male homosexuals, all the fashionable uh-ohs. Snuck it in on us.This thread is about the "promotion of interracial love" in modern art in particular and I honestly cannot think of one such example and have not seen anyone provide any either. As a matter of fact, I cannot even recall when I last saw a "mixed couple" on the screen. Care to refresh my memory? And more importantly, why is that even so triggering to you?
I think it is just a case of you projecting your twisted worldview than anything else. No one sees a commercial for a dating site and thinks they should date whomever they are using in the cast and that is not what the intentions are either. People looking for a date will just think "oh, a new dating site? I want a date and this looks interesting!" and that is exactly the message they want to send out.If so, that could change the craziness. Where they tack miscegeny onto every commercial and every program. I turn off miscegeny commercials as soon as they start --- they seem to be selling whites getting involved with blacks more than a product! Speak for your primitive self.Readers need to identify with characters to enjoy a book, and so writing them as perverted misfits is probably not a good money-making strategy.
Most new literature is indeed garbage, but it goes far deeper than characters being described as different kinds of sexual/racial minorites.Though writers will do it: this new fashion for women protags who are always drunk out of their gourd, I can't quite see what is supposed to be attractive about that.
