None of which the penny-pinching "Me, ME, MEEEEEEE!" crowd cares about unless someone they know needs these drugs.

Life-saving medications should be universally available. Let Big Pharma make its big bucks on Viagra and pass that through to the truly necessary medications.

Instead, what's happening is that the real breakthroughs are occurring in the smaller biotech companies that are buying "orphan" drugs that Big Pharma doesn't give a shit about.

Busting up their assumption that they can just partner with overseas companies and duck their share of taxes incentivizes them to quit pretending they care about patients instead of stockholders and saves the - intelligent - middle-class taxpayer some of the tax burden.

The less intelligent will continue to :bow3: to Big Pharma for reasons they can't even adequately explain.

ahh damn if it werent so depressing i could go thru my eobs and see the difference in the price of bcg and epirubicin ....i was doing my taxes and grumpy walks by and goes 'what the hell is that stack of papers' ....when i replied....my eobs ...he just slinked out of the house for a while....maybe tomorrow......

^Hugs.

P.S. I know epirubicin's been around forever, but it's generic and it's cheap and it's considered a "dirty" drug to be replaced by the newer, more expensive drugs, but if it works for you, God bless, and fuck Big Pharma!

thank you

back on topic...a friend works for an ra clinic..those drugs run from 14k up...she told me the cheapest she does in the clinic is 14 k....i did not know ra patients took infusions of this type...14k and up....

and the little dick that jacked up the price....that smirking little guy....that is what our country allows...other countries the government negotiates wth pharm, not here....

surviving cancer can in a way be more deadly than dying from it.....a young friend has had two bouts of serious shit.....over a million dollars in debt even with bcbs/nc. the horrors stories are all over....people dying because they cant afford meds...

o sorry .....just late in the day.....i am good....cancer free right now...

Again, hugs, and God bless, and I hope you remain cancer-free for the rest of your life. It's a mean, nasty, unfair disease, and we've both lost too many to it...and to stupid pharma greed.

Not something the "Me, ME, MEEEEEEE!" crowd knows or cares about.

"B-but is it going to cost MEEEEE money? Is it? Is it? Well, then, if those people can't pay tens of thousands of dollars a year for the drugs, why is it my problem, huh, HUH?"

thank you

I'm not religious, but if Martin Shkreli got hit by a truck, I'd feel sorry for the driver...

And the asshats in this forum don't care. That's the real tragedy.

yes the little smirkers name..what became of his legal troubles? sad that that was even allowed....i love when republcans rate about the cost of aca ...like insurance companies were suddenly gonna lower their rates? the death panels issues.....insurance companies are one big ass death panel...

I wonder if they make a drug that gets rid

U.S. medicine has a lot to learn. Not sure if that is what you are referencing.

Yes they are.

And thanks to Obama they are richer dealth panels.

The self-righteous morons on the left can't seem to grasp that.

The dorks on the right are not any smarter.

We need pills (that are better than rabbit turds) to help both sides with brain function.

i am referring to the closed minds of many doctors when it comes to thinking outside the box....i was lucky...my urologist just got pissed and put me on the other drug....he likes protocol...and living patients

This is America...he wasn't slammed for ripping off customers, but for cheating his shareholders. Just shows you where the priorities are in this country.

The Idiot Brigade in this and the Obamacare forum like to accuse me of being 100% pro-PPACA. I'm not, but they're too stupid to see it.

What I want is for every American to be able to go to the doctor and say "I've got this symptom that won't go away" without having to fear hundreds of thousands of dollars of debt.

The Stupids are either young and health and don't give a shit about anyone but themselves (some of them have families they won't even provide for) or they don't go to the doctor until it's too late, so they don't get it.

Too bad Stupid isn't designated as a medical condition.

thank you

Negotiating has gotten people killed...don't kid yourself.

Canada used to make a practice of using earlier generation drugs to keep costs down. That or contracting for leftovers and often running out (you really think pharma builds capacity for places that try to screw them down ?). I realize there are some on this board who have no overall sense of how this fits together.

Pharma and Obama are spooning tighter than ever.......

Pharma loves our government.
