President Biden told his Military Leadership he wanted the Balloo down last Wednesday (the day between Tuesday and Thursday).

The General's informed the President that it would be better to have the balloon shot down over the water. The reason being that the debris field (which according to the Pentagon stretches some 7-Miles) would impacted Civilian Areas. Homes damaged or destroyed, people killed or injured.

BY waiting for the balloon to clear the Continental U.S.. the possibility of damage to property or death or injury to Civilian was negated.

IF President Biden had demanded the balloon shot down and the military complied and people were injured or killed, you assholes would be bitching about.

Had people been killed if the balloon had been shot over a populated area, Cons would be demanding President Biden be impeached.
