No, I want history to be history in all honesty good or bad. You don't see Republicans ripping down statues because it's leftists who want to pick and choose what part of history we remember. We believe in displaying our history even if it's against what we feel today. As far as slavery goes, it was worldwide, not just the US. Owning slaves was as common in the world as owning pets in the US are today. And we are the country who ended slavery quicker than any other in the world. Hell, human slavery is still the way of life in some countries today. We killed our very own people to put it to an end.Okay, guy, but it seems that's kind of what you want, a history that glorifies the parts of history that you like while ignoring the parts you don't like.No because Communists don't want people to know history that created the greatest country on earth. Eventually there will be no history except that written by big brother, which as Orwell wrote about, will be changed to glorify the party.
If you want to talk about George Washington, you can talk about how he led the continental army, but also talk about how he owned slaves. Don't tell the cutsie story about how he had "Wooden Teeth", tell the reality that he had dentures made out of teeth yanked out the mouths of slaves.

The problem is, you want history that is propaganda to affirm cultural myths... and that's exactly the kind of thing Orwell was on about.
