Pelosi Appoints 2nd GOP Critic Of trump To Jan. 6 Committee

How is a House investigation needed? If there is a criminal aspect it belongs to the FBI and Justice Department. The House itself has no powers of enforcement and no power to compel any evidence to support or deny their 'insurrection' fantasy.
Sorry Al, the House has subpoena powers. They can make Kevin tell us about that phone call. Hell, they could even call in Dear Leader if they so choose. Hope they do! :)

Sorry, I didn't mean to light a fire under so many extremist asses.

I should have said, all that was needed was one bullet between his horns.

We communist/fascists/whatever are delighted to be able to watch Americans of all political stripes shit in their own nests!

Nancy has made her bed, can she sleep in it?

They wont do that. Trump would not come anyway, and they wont arrest a former President. In that respect we are closer to a banana republic than to a first world democracy. And his defiance would only set another new, lower than low standard. They arent going to give him and his cult that rally cry.

But they may compile a bunch of damning evidence, make it public, and challenge him to voluntarily testify to refute any implications of the evidence. Then let the world watch as he squirms.

Even if Pelosi had accepted all 5 McCarthy selections and we were forced to listen to Jordan babble and whine for his allotment of time you RWI’s would still cry that it was a partisan committee because rightfully there were more (D) than (R).

Is Nancy the latest and greatest self appointed Witch Hunter?
These peoples obsession is so rooted in fake feelings that I declare This to be the pandemic that has over spread the Nation

Because whether or not something is strictly illegal is not the only standard we hold in this country. If congresspeople were not only complicit but actively helping the capitol rioters intentionally or otherwise, we need to know. We need to know how this happened start to finish and how to keep it from happening again. We need to know if the threat still remains, and we need to know who is fueling it. The FBI can find fa tual info on this to give to the committee, and the committee is tasked with pulling that and all other info together into a bigger picture.
How is Congress the right agency to investigate if Congress had a part to play? You don't see the massive conflict of interest? This is pure political theater, nobody else cares about what happened way back on January or February or whatever. Only liberals are trying to keep this nothing story in the news. America moved on.

Best analysis so far!
But it was all illegal and called for lethal force by the police to stop them.
It seems most likely that agreements were made beforehand on the rioters not bringing guns and the police not using their guns. That alone would amount to criminal conspiracy.

I would suggest that the political climate in the near future will dictate whether or not justice is served on the conspirators.

If America's democracy is to be viewed as standing strong then they will be severely dealt with.
If America's democracy is insecure then they will be allowed to get away with their crimes.

If the latter is true then can America move on as a secure democracy.
There's obviously a great deal at stake, with no guarantee of reaching a satisfactory conclusion.

A fascist movement can be born without the need for a majority at the ballot boxes.

So you will have a committee of people who all share the same viewpoint and have all come to the same preconvinced conculsion. You will then have the partisans in and out of the media praise them for giving them their confirmation bias and the rest of the nation will see it for the joke it is.

Yupp! This crap again.
Months of weekly 'bombshells' by the media.

Thanks to the GOP. They attempted to form a bipartisan committee. The GOP rejected it. They formed a select committee and invited 5 GOPers to join. McCarthy intentionally chose people who voted to decertify the election and who activle4y perpetuate the Big Lie that caused the riot. He did this on purpose, knowing they would be rejected. As your response shows, his theater worked.

Congress itself didnt have a part. Some congresspeople may have, and did so quite outside the purview of congress or their duties as congresspeople. Congress is the absolutely correct body to investigate. Or are you suggesting we look for volunteers?

Called for lethal force?

nope

Yes. And thank goodness they did not use it more. It could have been a massacre in real time on live television. Which makes me worried for what would happen if they attempt it again.

Imagine if one of those pipe bombs had gone off, at the moment the protestors were assaulting police lines.

Your response proves my point you want one voice one point of only the one you have had since 1-7-21. Pelosi has given you what you wanted and your response was predictable. The funny and sad part is how you and your conservative counterparts only see these committees as legitimate when your side is running it. This committee is being done for strictly partisan political reasons they have nothing to do with truth or facts just as it is when Republicans are running them I’m just honest enough to admit it. Have a nice day.
