The lives of 5 or 6 protesters would have been a very small sacrifice paid for upholding America's image as a strong and secure democracy.

It's not a sham committee....Does it matter who is or isn't on this sham committee? What possible interest does the House have in this, beyond political theater? The only good thing that comes of this, is the precedent for Republicans to open similar investigations on the countless urban insurrections across the country and the lead up to Harris' impeachment.

How is a House investigation needed? If there is a criminal aspect it belongs to the FBI and Justice Department. Because whether or not something is strictly illegal is not the only standard we hold in this country. If congresspeople were not only complicit but actively helping the capitol rioters intentionally or otherwise, we need to know. We need to know how this happened start to finish and how to keep it from happening again. We need to know if the threat still remains, and we need to know who is fueling it.
