Another former (D) who has been enjoying Week One... a couple of cringe moments, but mostly good for America.

Why the change?

I've switched from a very reluctant (D) to an I(ndependent) since November 5, 2024; the day after the last election.

I've had a bellyful of (D) elitism and lies and incompetency and cowardice and detachment from mainstream America.

Another one who says: "I didn't leave the Democratic Party... the Democratic Party left me." --- I'm done --- so be it.

I'm enjoying the Trump Presidency thus far. I know it's only three days in, but there seems to be a real vibe shift over the past few months. For the better. This seems really different than 2017.

It's helped that as I've dug further, I'm beginning to realize just how crazy the left has become. I've always known the far left was crazy, but I've underestimated just how batshit crazy they are. They've dialed the crazy up to 11.

I still don't like the man. I still think he's unfit to be President. But I'd be lying if I said I wasn't enjoying this.

I've been pleased with some of his actions in the first few days, but he'd be taken more seriously if he'd cut out the "Gulf of America" and "we're taking back the canal" bullshit.

Welcome to the club of those of us who are frequently annoyed by 45 and 47 but who deeply appreciate his vision, style, work ethic, policies, agenda etc. that benefit all except for some of those who benefitted from promoting the crazy.

We didn't elect a saint and don't pretend we did. But we did elect a man who loves America and Americans and will do the best he can for us whether we like him or not. I honestly believes that is what he wants his legacy to be and why he is doing this.

It indeed is a new day in America. Hopefully Trump will have a have a lot more of us protecting his back this time that should make his job a lot easier and even more productive.

You understand the difference between people who think of themselves as being of the opposite gender they were born to, and people who empathize with their internal struggle, right?

One of my best friends has a granddaughter who now thinks of herself as a man. Do I think she's a man? No, cuz she isn't. I can't understand what she is going through. But I know it must be awful.

Do I think she should use the men's room when out in public? No. Same goes for men who think they are women.

But I don't spend my time freaking out about it. And I don't think it's very humane to make those folks the victims of politicians making a spectacle of their lives.

Lot's of people were required to be vaccinated for various potential illnesses before COVID came along. Like kids going to public school or people in the military. It was never a thing until nitwits decided to make it a political football. Like the ones who died after they caught COVID because they refused to be vaccinated, making their symptoms lethal.
