Police Union That Endorsed Trump Condemns Jan 6 Pardons—'Dangerous Message'

The largest police union in the U.S. has condemned President Donald Trump for his sweeping pardons of those involved in the January 6 Capitol riot in 2021.

The Fraternal Order of Police, which endorsed Trump in the last three general elections, issued a joint statement with the International Association of Chiefs of Police denouncing the "dangerous message" that pardoning those convicted of assaulting officers sends.

The people who supported him have turned on him. Two years is all you MAGAS are going to get.

That's terrible news.

I'll bet they don't back him in 2028

Pardoning criminals for politics is a big part of America's societal breakdown.

That's great for the competition!

Sorry pigs. You got conned like the rest of us.

I hope to GOD Trump ends public unions.

Police officers belong to a variety of unions, including the Fraternal Order of Police (FOP), the International Union of Police Associations (IUPA), and the Police Officers Association of Michigan (POAM).

Funny the cops do not mention all the G.Floyd rioters that walked after killing police officers. Why do you think that is?

Biden and previous Democrat Presidents have pardoned rapists, killers, and terrorists; including, those that shot up the Capitol and those who tried to bomb it.

How did those pardons not send a dangerous message?

How come no one is taking into account the time served already. 4 years is a long time even for assault.

And regardless, half the members will still vote GOP.

Over 80 of those charged in the January 6 investigation have ties to the military

Thomas Webster, a Marine Corps veteran and retired New York City Police Department officer, has been indicted on multiple counts, including assaulting a police officer with a large metal flagpole carrying a red U.S. Marine Corps flag attached to it. According to investigators' Statement of Facts, Webster yelled at the officer "You f***ing piece of shit. You f***ing Commie motherf***ers, man," and then lunged towards him with the metal flagpole.

why what have you got against public unions?....do federal workers get treated better by management than private workers?....

Fair enough. And Trump himself says their sentences were "ridiculous and excessive."

They should each sue for $1 million. Trump can settle with them for $500,000 each. This is to say sorry for ordering them to do something that landed them in jail.

Republicans seem to think that public unions are wrong but private unions are okay. They may not like private unions but they really hate public unions.

I want Republicans to get their wish so I can say ha ha I told you so to all my cop and teacher friends here and in the real world. Way too many of them vote Republican.

Hell Trump wants to privatize the freakin post office. Do you think that private company is going to start off with a union? Wake up. They will make less than you did. And do you think this company would hire someone who came from the post office? Fuck no!

No one can take you seriously when you lie so boldly.

I happen to be in partial agreement.

To the extent that his J6 defendant pardons includes those who committed violent crimes (against any individuals), I believe it went a bit too far.

On the other hand, let’s be fair. Lincoln pardoned the Confederacy Rebels, too. Maybe it’s better to just put that shit behind us.
