War was just an experiment for two of the U.S. military’s oldest and most unusual warplanes. A pair of OV-10 Broncos—small, Vietnam War-vintage, propeller-driven attack planes—recently spent three months flying top cover for ground troops battlingISIS militants in the Middle East. Why Is America Using These Antique Planes to Fight ISIS?

May as well retire it before it does more damage to our own forces by eating the budget alive

OV-10 Broncos and A-1 Skyraiders were my favorite close support aircraft when I spent one tour as an ARVN advisor. OV-10s at night and A1s during the day.

Can you imagine how many SDB's and Griffins you could sling under that Skyraider

An A-1 could carry a bigger load than a B-17. There was a thread a while back about the A-1 and someone posted a load comparison.
