Our Solar/Alt Energy Future

We need as much oil as possible to fuel the equipment necessary to extract all those rare earth minerals required to power all those electric cars.

Ever see anyone scarring the earth with electric or wind powered vehicles:

VIRGINIA CITY, Nev., Aug. 20, 2024 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Comstock Inc. (NYSE: LODE) (“Comstock” and the “Company”) and its subsidiary, Comstock Metals Corporation (“Comstock Metals”), a technology leader in efficiently recycling end-of-life solar panels into reusable aluminum, copper, silver, glass and other minerals, that delivers a 100% closed-loop, zero-landfill solution, today announced its first shipments and revenues from the sale of over 3,000 pounds of recycled, reusable aluminum, commencing regularly scheduled shipments. We expect aluminum recovery of about 10 to 15 percent of the solar panel input weight. This initial sale exceeded our expectation of secondary recovery, achieving more than fifty cents per pound for these aluminum scrap grades.

I love this. MAGA pedophile Matt Gaetz actually challenges Mark Cuban on business?

A guy in SW Scotland, his solar panels have only produced half of the expected amount of electric this year. Who on earth would have solar panels in Scotland to begin with, and man made climate change brought us a below average temperature year, just clouds and rain.

The future is solar, the future is not bright.

This is the logic of someone saying "Cars? They'll never be big. I live in the Amazon rainforest, and these things are useless here".

But you have very good wind and hydroelectric options.
That's why electric is a fortune.

You lose a lot of land space to hydro 'US has loads of space, UK doesn't) and as you know, wind turbines are bad for the environment and wildlife. I'm a nuclear power fan.

I imagine forever cleaning them

No cleaning is required. They’re angled to face the sun, so rain washes them clean and runs off to whatever is beneath. No pollution at all.

My computer dealer has a solar array on his garage roof. It’s big enough to run his house and his next door neighbour.

No cleaning is required.

It really depends. In an area which is very dry and dusty that gets little precip for weeks and months at a time, they can get pretty dirty, cutting down on the light throughput therefor cutting down on efficiency. Then other places, they can get bombed by birds over time, and that stuff bakes on.

How often does it rain in California

Deep inside the mountains water is pumped 400 meters by solar and wind power from a lower to an upper reservoir. When the sun is not shining or the wind is not blowing or there is peak energy demand, energy from the hydro turbines is released into the grid.

The plant is huge, but fit well into the terrain showing we can build big and respect nature all the same.

It creates a seemless system of solar, wind and hydro 24 hours a day. This is the future of green energy!

Fatass Michael Moore is a Commie.
Agreed.

That makes his presentation of Jeff Gibbs' expose' of the AGW grift even more compelling. If you viewed the thing, that might occur to you.
