Zone1 One Truth: Should Society Maintain a Moral Compass?

So rape can be moral? You are a dumbass.

Judaism teaches that moral truths are objective and revealed by God, providing a compass for humanity. Core values include justice, loving kindness and holiness. You must not be Jewish because you are constantly making arguments in opposition to Jewish beliefs.
Yes I had a girl friend who had a rape fantasy so by agreement among us both we role played. Very exciting BTW
The Ten Commandments says Thou shalt not murder it doesnt say kill.
Love and kindness can be in the form of enabling an addiction or mental illness. Is that moral.
You simply cant understand Jewish beliefs.
Empathy can be toxic or compassionate. Which is moral?

You are spinning yourself into a pretzel. Even science requires observations, dummy. You don't know the difference between subjective and objective.
You show your lack of education. I said valid science. That means we apply the standard of validity. Alpha values and repeatability. 40% of all science is invalid. Science is often subjective or biased. Didnt you take research methods course in graduate school.

Opinions swirl through society. There are many opinions, but one truth. Moral relativity (what is right for thee is not right for me) abounds. Those who uphold one truth over opinions are labeled judgmental, discriminatory, bigoted, merciless.

Society can either choose moral relativity or one truth. As far back as Biblical times, societies failed during times of moral relativity and struggled to return to the Rule of Law–or one truth.

What say you? With the “Equality Act”, Congress is pushing American society into moral relativity and even into government regulation/insistence of this moral relativity into churches and faith communities. Is moral relativity the answer, or should we be seeking a society that maintains its moral compass of one truth?

I'm so done with moral relatively. Anyone who demands it needs to be in involuntary inpatient mental health care forever.

I said valid science. 40% of science is invalid. Validity is supported by use of alpha values and repeatability.
Key Aspects of Alpha Values:
  • Significance Level: Defines the threshold for rejecting the null hypothesis. A 5% alpha (

) means there is a 5% risk of concluding a difference exists when it does not.
  • Common Values:While 0.05 is standard, 0.01 (stricter) and 0.10 (exploratory) are also used
    .
    • Relationship to Confidence: Alpha is calculated as

. A 95% confidence level corresponds to an alpha of 0.05.
    • Decision Rule: If

, reject the null hypothesis; if

, fail to reject the null hypothesis.

    • Trade-offs: A lower alpha reduces Type I errors (false positives) but increases Type II errors (failing to detect a real effect).

    • Repeatability is the consistency of a measurement system or experiment when conducted multiple times under the exact same conditions. Often called "test-retest reliability" or "within-run precision," it measures how closely results match when everything—the person, the tool, the location, and the timing—remains constant.

Word/definition changes can be a bane. 'Virtue' started out as the mark of a person of strong character and reliability; valiant. Moral relativity pushed the 'virtue' definition to mean prudish and/or delicate. People began shying away from actual virtues and let themselves be convinced by Hamlet's motto what made something good or bad/right or wrong was whatever anyone thought it was.

Since good, bad, right, wrong have lost their punch, what word can we use to bring us back to building a strong character, to grow into a reliable person, and to be valiant in even the smallest of circumstances or issues? The prayer of St. Augustine comes to mind: "Breathe in me, O Holy Spirit, that my thoughts may all be holy; act in me, O Holy Spirit, that my work, too, may be holy". I also add, May I remember to speak so that my words are holy.

'Holy' is a word that still cannot be argued with. When choice lies before us, there is always a holy choice. We hear all the time how for some abortion is a good choice for them. Perhaps? But is it the holy choice.

A few posts above this one, someone noted that for him and his girlfriend, play-acting rape was a good choice for them, as she fantasized about being raped. Is a rape fantasy the holier choice when engaging in sex? Many people will retort, Who wants sex to be holy? And that's the crux of moral relativity: Who wants to be that good? Who wants to be that strong, that valiant, that reliable?
