Someone's been to the R&RHoF recently...

I used to go to Joel's shows every time he came through Los Angeles. I stopped going when I went to a show at the Long Beach Arena and I knew more of the lyrics than he did. My guess? He'd been drinking.

I still enjoy a lot of his music. Mostly the older stuff, the first five or so albums before he hit it big... when he was a little angry, edgy...

His really early work in bands is... interesting. Hassles was his first band, circa 1967/68, and the duo Attila followed in 1970 (Attila sucked balls).

I have yet to watch the HBO two part documentary on the man. No reason. Just haven't.
