They aren't, because it doesn't work that way.... If people aren't currently using birth right citizenship in order to immunize themselves against deportation ...
It's not birthright citizenship for illegal immigrants, it's citizenship for those born in the US (and therefore not illegal)....If you support birthright citizenship for illegal immigrants, just say so.
They aren't, because it doesn't work that way.
Lame brains interrupt and talk out of turn constantly. It’s an attempt to throw fact based commentary off its baseHere is the deep Constitutional analysis the brainiacs at Fox News have been able to bring to bear thus far:
Supreme Court Chief Justice Roberts reins in Sotomayor after repeated interruptions

Given a reading comprehension disability you probably won't read the arguments presented here. But they are quite interesting for those wanting information instead of just spewing assigned talking points garbage:You mean Fox News?
You clearly don't know what "subject to the jurisdiction thereof" means.
Why do you think they had to carve out ambassadors?
EVERYONE on our soil is subject to the jurisdiction of the United States except those with diplomatic immunity.
Which, by the way, also means they have Fifth Amendment protections, vis a vis due process.
You're cracking me up.![]()
"Believe" has got nothing to do with it. It is a fact.No sane person believes you.
There were no illegals to consider back then so it remains as it is when written. For American citizensI think you touched upon an excellent point.
This isn't just about the letters of the law, rather, it has to do with the spirit of the law. Yes, according to the letters of the law, illegals' children are citizens. However, this goes completely against the spirit of what the law is, and what it means to be a citizen, and who should be a citizen.
It is easy enough to say, "Children who are born on American soil are citizens". Anybody can say that. But it is never just about where one is born. We need to take into account the manner by which this child obtains her citizenship, and we will discover that it is highly unethical and questionable, which should really bother anyone who has integrity and who can tell when people did something wrong.
My parents, their parents, their parents' parents were all American citizens. That is what should make me a citizen. Not the fact that I was born here. It's the only reason YOU are a citizen.
There were conscious though that there could be invaders or those here for other reasons than to become Americans and they certainly did not intend that those should become citizens. There were no illegals to consider back then so it remains as it is when written. For American citizens
Illegals would need some inkling of an affirmation from the authors that being “born here” qualifies those from distant lands as citizens. There is no such thing. They probably had a few remaining pirates to deal with and their babies did not become citizens. That would be stupid, the authors were not,There were conscious though that there could be invaders or those here for other reasons than to become Americans and they certainly did not intend that those should become citizens.
Is HAS worked that way up until now. The alien pregnant woman gets here before her child comes, she give birth in a U.S. hospital at taxpayer expense, and voila! She has a citizen anchor baby that cannot be deported. And because Americans won't be so heartless to send her home without the baby she gets to stay too. And then far too often she has been allowed to bring in her husband if she has one, parents, siblings, grandparents, cousins, aunts, uncles. And if they can't support themselves the taxpayer does. They aren't, because it doesn't work that way.

There is no reference of every other class of persons from other countries being elegible and benefitted"...will include EVERY OTHER CLASS OF PERSONS."
Boom. Done.
However you want to spin it, do you support citizenship for the offspring of people in the country illegally? It's not birthright citizenship for illegal immigrants, it's citizenship for those born in the US (and therefore not illegal).
