Gotta say, even though I was annoyed to have "The Sixties" interupted, I was proud of our President when he mentioned this thing. Though his speech kinda went off the rails after the actual annoucement and shoulda been more 'just the facts ma'am' but that's me.

If I'm not mistaken, the US is required by law to intervene militarily when ever and where ever acts of genocide are deemed to be taking place. After World War 2 we decided preventing genocides might be a good idea.

Surely you don't mean that the Iraq government are the ones waiting to slaughter those who have fled to the mountain?

And any action taken by the US in Syria has been against Assad. Obama and the west have been thrilled to death that ISIS, Levant and al Nusra were working to overthrow Assad.

So no way in hell would Obama have ever bombed ISIS in Syria.

This is why we are in the here and now. ISIS was allowed to grow in stature, size and power to become the most formidable and wealthiest terror army on the planet.
