Of course they did. FBI Agents are not enslaved persons or convicts given a work detail. There weren't still investigating Mar-a-Lago. That stopped when the prosecutions ended. These people were fired simply because they were assigned to this investigation. Like they had a choice about what files they were assigned to.
The media makes a lot of anti-Trump hay when people resign in protest of this or that, so resigning rather than doing something you find morally repugnant is always an option. As far as I know, not one single person resigned due to the persecution of Trump.
No one said, "change an email that is to be presented to the FISA court to make it say the exact opposite of what it says, so that we can get a wiretap warrant against the Trump campaign? I'm not doing that!"
If one of them had said, "I'm a trained counter-terrorist law enforcement officer. I'm not going to be party to a politically motivated intrusion into the personal residence of a former president and his family," I'd say re-hire them with full back pay. Instead, they all went along with it, so the "just following orders" excuse does not work.
You realize that it is not just wrong to use federal law enforcement assets for political purposes, it is a crime?
Were lives endangered when they were assigned to Melania's underwear instead of terrorists? Or was that kewl? This level of petty retaliation is endangering lives, since the entire anti-terrorism unit has been decimated, and their expertise and experience is gone.
