"A self-proclaimed "Bitcoin millionaire" is pitching a mobile device called the "Freedom Phone" to supporters of former President Donald Trump -- but as The Daily Beast's Will Sommer reports, it looks like a massive grift. It turns out that the phone, which was created by conservative cryptocurrency enthusiast Erik Finman, "appears to be merely a more expensive rebranding of a budget Chinese phone available elsewhere for a fraction of the Freedom Phone's price," writes Sommer.

Finman has promised that the phone is technically comparable with other high-end phones on the market, but so far has refused to release its specifications. "Asked to justify the Freedom Phone's notable price ($499.00) increase over the Umidigi model, Finman claimed vaguely that the Freedom Phone features customized hardware and improved memory," writes Sommer. The phone has also been promoted by right-wing media personalities including Dinesh D'Souza and Candace Owens. Finman billed the "Freedom Phone" as the ideal device for conservatives who feel censored by "Big Tech," and it comes preloaded with favorite right-wing apps such as Parler and Rumble."

Marketing and branding is important.....though you can purchase this same phone on Alibaba for 100 bucks; once you call it a freedom phone; that is at least a 300 dollar mark-up -- and if you preload it with apps like Parler or Rumble -- that just gives it another $100 worth of freedom. That is the one good thing about base republicans that conservative grifters have come to admire -- they are so easy to fleece money from.......Bush could have had a better post presidency if he had learned how to market himself and merchandise better......because those "Mission Accomplished" action figures didn't age well at all...

Another grifter, mini-Trump, making $$$ of of Trump's gullible cult.

July 14 2021
Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) is selling merchandise on his campaign website taking shots at Anthony Fauci, the nation’s leading infectious diseases expert, and other coronavirus restrictions.

The merchandise includes drink koozies and shirts that say “Don’t Fauci My Florida” and flags that closely resemble former President Trump’s style saying “Keep Florida Free.”

Apparently it performs poorly.....drops calls frequently...and is not as inexpensive to run a plan as is advertised ( have already talked to some peole).....it won't be there for long. I give the entrepreneur credit for recognizing a hot market but he obviously does not have the capital he would need to come in as a true competitor..... With Big boys like Verizon, At&t, T-mobile..... the entry into the market is easily at the multi billion dollar level not tens of millions like this guy is trying to do.

I think this guy is trying to shoestring..... with cell phones that's a really bad idea....the service has been taken to extreme levels of efficiency and " Getting In " is no joke and certainly no place for a shoestringer.
