New Immigration Bill In Works

Aunt Barry used reverse vetting in deciding who to let in. He WANTED immigrants to be unskilled since they would go on welfare and vote for his party.

Unless you and your spouse have PHDs in STEM , keep out.

Yup, future lifelong Democrat Voters.

Wow! Finally a President effectively addressing our ongoing Immigration System nightmare. Good on Trump bigtime.:clap:

President Trump on Wednesday teamed up with two conservative Republican senators to roll out new legislation aimed at dramatically curbing legal immigration to the United States, a key Trump campaign promise.

Sens. Tom Cotton (R-Ark.) and David Perdue (R-Ga.) have been working with White House officials to revise and expand a bill released earlier this year that would halve the number of people who receive legal permanent residence over a decade.

The senators joined Trump at a White House ceremony to announce the measure.

The president told reporters in the Roosevelt Room that the measure “would represent the most significant reform to our immigration system in a half a century."

They say the legislation would move the United States to a "merit-based" immigration system and away from the current model, which is largely based on family ties...

Spot On. They desperately need 'Victims.' But moving towards a merit-based skilled worker system is the logical way forward. Trump's got it right.

Poor people, for the most part, don't vote. This is a stupid theory that you nutbags have been trying to push for decades.

Dems want a nation with no poverty. You fuckers need poor people so you have someone to look down on and to blame for all of your problems.

Our nation was built on the backs of poor and immigrants. It will remain welcoming to all.

Past time we had a politician with guts enough to speak the truth. Don't come here unless you have something to offer and can talk.

Yeah. I know. I'm a regular riot.

We don't need to cut our legal immigration levels. It is sad that the Republican Party chooses to side with extremists. This will go nowhere because Democrats and sane Republicans will say no.

lol, Trump flunky Miller is on tv right now,

saying that the immigration plan is designed to favor the working class, not the investor class.

lolol did Marx or Engels write that for him?

Why would you want to handicap yourself by going to a country where you cannot communicate?

If you modify immigration to bring in skilled people, don't they just take the better paying jobs away from Americans,
as opposed to the guy who comes in to mow lawns?

As a matter of fact, they do take the skilled jobs. So, instead of Juan coming over and picking oranges, which is a job that nobody wants, Chin Tau will come over and take that coding job at Microsoft, putting a native American out of work. But, that's alright, because that native America can then fill that migrant worker job that Juan would have done.

We are lucky that Trump wasn't president in the early 1800's. It was the poor Irish who built the Erie Canal. The Irish and the Chinese also built the transcontinental railroad,

Halfing immigration inflow is a disastrous policy for our economy - with aging population and worsening worker-dependant ratio we badly need external infusion of working age population (assuming no other major economic growth setbacks).
