Well, it's going to strain our relations with Europe. And, btw, their govts just yesterday joined China's newly created shadow International Monetary Fund. My post was a take off on a Jeffrey Goldberg piece on Atlantic earlier this week, in which he bemoaned European anti-Semitism. And it's there, and no doubt blaming Jews for killing the Christ is absurd. They did, but it was 2000 years ago, and if you take Christian mythology seriously ... it was inevitable. LOL But nothing happens without a reason. What Israel is doing is no different from what Putin is doing. Israel just burned its last bridge in Europe. And it's a sure bet the anti-Semitism is going to get a lot worse, and European govts will be pressed on the Palestinian issue.

The US is tied to Israel because we inevitably do have neocon leanings. The Europeans don't have that tie. We did meddle in Ukraine. How we can be tied to the Saudis and simultaneously attacking radical sunnis with the Iranians .... if you understand that, please let me in on the answer. It's oil, of course, but that doesn't really explain it all.

The question will be whether our interests in having Israel's back in the UN are outweighed by other interests, now that two states are off the table.
