NBC News Video of Police Officer SHOOTING Ashley Babbit on Jan. 6th

LOL...he didn't keep them out of the House chamber...he kept them from breaking through the doors leading to the hallway leading to the door into the House chamber! That wasn't heroic. It was uncalled for. Out of all the law enforcement personnel there that day he was the ONLY one that fired his gun and he did it to shoot an unarmed female protester that hadn't hurt anyone! By the time those protesters that were with Babbitt managed to get into the House Chamber it too would have been empty! So what did Byrd accomplish by shooting a protester? Nothing. He panicked. He panicked and shot someone that didn't need to be killed. It's something he'll have to live with for the rest of his life.

The door to the House chamber was just a few feet away from Ashes and it was not barricaded.

The red dot is where Ashes was shot. The blue door is a door leading into the House chamber...

Draw a line from Byrd...through Babbitt and that stairwell and the Swat officers that were standing it are on a direct line with the shot. Byrd is an idiot who never should have had a gun in the first place. You don't shoot at a person with other people behind them...if you do so when some of the other people are fellow law enforcement officials then you're an idiot's idiot!

LOL

Lyin' moron, that would have had to go through two walls and on a downward trajectory as they were walking down the stairs when she was shot. He could not have hit them. They were not in his line of fire. And yes, you shoot at someone when they are a threat to others' life or great bodily harm.

So what you're admitting is that the protesters needed to finish breaking through the barricaded door and then break down what we can assumed was a locked door leading into the House chamber before the last few House members and staff are escorted down the stairs and out of the chamber? Oh, and that last doorway will be guarded by Secret Service agents pointing automatic weapons at them? Gee, Faun...guess who's going to win THAT race every time! Byrd didn't "save" anyone! Those people were going to have exited the chamber long before the protesters finally break in.

What two walls are you talking about? The Swat team is literally a few yards behind Babbitt and to her right...standing at the top of the stairs. If he'd missed Babbitt or the shot had gone through her cleanly it could have hit any number of different people including those Swat officers. It's why you don't fire off a round at someone with people behind them. Byrd SHOULD have known that but then again we're talking about the same officer that left his weapon behind in a public restroom (who the hell is stupid enough to do that? even Barney Fife never lost his gun!) and was standing behind Secret Service agents that day with his weapon pointed at their backs and his finger on the trigger! He's an idiot.

That door to the House chamber was neither barricaded nor guarded. Byrd was the last one guarding that door.

And the lies keep coming.

If he missed Ashes Targetpractice, all he could have hit was a wall. The shot would have had ro go through that wall, and then a second wall (of the stairwell) just to reach the cops heading downstairs. And he would have had to be aiming down to hit them, which he wasn't.

Byrd was not in the Chamber, dolt! He'd gone out to the hallway and was hiding beside THAT door waiting to kill someone. Was the door to the chamber locked? If it was as sturdy as the one in the hall one can premise that it would have taken some time to break down. What happened to the Secret Service that were IN the House Chamber? Had they magically disappeared like the sound of Byrd's commands before he shot Babbitt? Oh wait...you need them to be gone because otherwise, Byrd is simply shooting someone for breaking into an empty hallway and god knows how bad THAT looks!

I didn't say Byrd was in the chamber. I said he was guarding that door. We all know where he was standing.

And that "empty hallway," moments earlier had members of Congress being escorted away. Which is what triggered that mob to start breaking through the doors and windows.

A violent mob breaks into the Capitol, then attempts to break through doors when they spot lawmakers on the other side; and your solution is to just let them in and hope they don't injure anyone.

When you claim that the hall only "moments earlier" had members of Congress in it...how much time went by between when that took place and when Babbitt was shot, Faun? The truth is that those lawmakers were long gone. They'd been evacuated. Just like the remaining lawmakers were being evacuated down the stairs by the speakers dais in the chamber. If you like I can go and figure out exactly how much time passed. Would you like me to embarrass you like that?

About 100 seconds.

You have been shown numerous times that there were still legislators IN THE FUCKING HOUSE CHAMBER when Ashes took one in the face.

Just stop. You're an embarrassment

Cops felt threatened and shot unarmed people not listening to them. It makes me very happy that the Left finally sees this is the same scenario for many of the protests and urban destruction they engage in. Also, the next time police are getting pushed on from mobs and or assaulted with bricks and bottles by a mob, they should fire towards the “tip of the spear “ to prevent further escalation. The Left finally gets it.
It wasn't that they were getting pushed back by the rioters, it was that they were protecting the legislators who were still in the chamber. It was a last line of defense where deadly force was approved to stop the surging mob. It shouldn't have happened. It is DJT who is morally and practically responsible for her death.

In most street riots when a rioter breaks through the lines, I've always seen them caught usually, and then they get the shit beaten out of them and thrown into a paddy wagon. Check out the video of the 68 DNC convention riots in Chicago.

Were those legislators being evacuated? Would they have still been there after the time that it would have taken for the protesters to break through that outer door and then break through yet another door? A door guarded by Secret Service agents with drawn weapons?
