'My health insurance is going up to $800 a month with a $15k deductible and that's the CHEAPEST PLAN"

True. They are about whites only.
Bullshit. MAGA cares about making AMERICA great, no matter your color, your creed, or your sexuality. So long as you want a strong and FREE America, you are welcome.

If you're a scumbag criminal, of whatever color, we don't want you.

And you can take your 34 felony bullshit and shove it up your ass.

Because when the government subsidizes the patient and the provider it turns the National Treasury into a bottomless pit of money/debt, and only increases prices.
Which we are witnessing right now in our faces, yet the Democrats just refuse to see. It's like they have no ears to hear a thing, and their eyes are blind.

Its not just democrats. Healthcare and healthcare insurance is just too expensive. What is the solution to affordability?

Government subsidies vs Medicaid?

We need the OPPOSITE of subsidies. We see what happens when government subsidizes something - the costs skyrocket.

What we need is to require that the costs of all medical services are revealed BEFORE the customer buys, and not covered by insurance unless it is a major medical issue. Then medical providers will have to compete on cost because the customer is the one paying.

We have an example with LASIK. It has not been covered by insurance, and it costs a few thousand dollars - the procedure itself and all follow-up appointments. If insurance covered it, it would be 10x as expensive. Hell, I went to the ER one night and the cost was $16,000!

Doctor visits, lab work, and other routine expenses should be paid by the customer - who will know what the cost will be before he decides which doctor to see. The $2,000 Trump wants to provide will cover many doctor visits and lab work per year - and let’s face it, most people until they’re in their 50s see a doctor once a year.

When I was young and just starting out saving up for a down payment I did not have healthcare insurance.
The gamble paid off and my next job I had it.
When I was 62 and thinking about retiring I had to buy healthcare insurance until I was 65 and medicare kicked in. It was very expensive, about $1,600 a month for a healthy guy.
Someone said that AI might help lower healthcare costs by reducing unnecessary testing, and by aiding diagnoses. Medical accounts to save for medical emergencies might be the best option.

You’re not saying anything about requiring medical providers to be transparent with their pricing, and thus be forced to compete. That alone will reduce prices.

Insurance should be for MAJOR expenses.

Why does everybody have such a short memory? Fifteen years ago my health insurance through my employer was about $25-35 per bi-weekly paycheck. Had a real low deductible and great coverage. After the .gov and Democrats stepped in to 'save us', my rates skyrocketed. Within a year or two they doubled. then the deductibles went up. by 2021, eleven short years after the Democrats promised us lower health care costs, I was paying over $1000 per month on the marketplace with deductibles in the thousands. And I had to use GoodRx for drugs because they didn't cover them.

This is what happens when you get good ole deep pockets Uncle Sam to pay for everything.

Same here. Before Obamacare, I was paying $500 a month to buy individual insurance. The deductible was $2000 a year, and everything was covered after that. I also was able to go to any doctor I wanted, including out-of-state specialists. All meds were covered as well.

After Obamacare - that was supposed to save me money and let me keep my doctor - my premium went up to $900 a month, my deductible was $6,000, and NONE of my three doctors (one PCP, the other two specialists) was covered.

I had to find a new PCP, and, for the first time in my life, had to negotiate fees with the two specialists. (The others in network were nowhere near as good.) One agreed to a $300 per visit fee, and the other was $200. That was in addition to the $900 a month premium.

Even worse, when I needed PT, I found a place in network - but the negotiated payment was $130 per session, 2x a week. I overheard another patient saying she was uninsured, and she was told the cash price was $99. I then said I’d just pay the cash price, but the receptionist said “no, once you ADMIT [her word] you have insurance, we are required to go through them.”

Think of that: for a $900 a month premium, I was given the “privilege” of paying MORE for my appointment than if I had no insurance at all! (I simply declined and went to a different PT place and hid - yes, hid - the fact I had Obamacare and thus I saved money.)

So you think a $15,000 deductible is reasonable for healthcare insurance? Nationwide insurance is needed, like Costco, or Walmart, or __________. Insurance is where we need pricing competition.

Medical providers are what we call "hospitals". If a kid gets hurt, you take them there.

Or are you referring to "walk-in" medical units for minor issues?

I never see prices on walls (to shop?) before seeking medical care. Maybe cities are different, I'm rural.

Did you even read the two previous posts? Nobody thinks a $15,000 deductible is reasonable for healthcare insurance. BUT it wasn't always that way. It used to be affordable until the Democrats and then President Obama promised us that they would make it more affordable.

What they did was an EPIC FAIL!!!! Did you have any insurance before 2010?

No. The reason we got up to ridiculous $15,000 deductibles is because of the Obamacare monstrosity.

Get rid of insurance for minor issues, and you’ll see prices plummet.

Thank you. You and I said basically the same thing, at the same time.

I do. We should all have the highest deductible we can afford. It's foolish to pay a premium to an insurance company for things you can cover yourself. If you can keep $15k in the bank for emergencies, you'll save money with a "catastrophic" policy, with a $15k deductible, that only covers unexpected calamities that you can't cover yourself.

If we did that - if most of us were paying for most routine health care out of pocket - health care prices would come down. As it is, there's no downward price pressure at all, so they just go up and up and up.

The problem is that ACA made these kinds of policies illegal. Now the "catastrophic" policies have to cover routine health care (prescriptions, preventative care, etc, etc ...) in addition to the catastrophes. Which makes them much more expensive. You get the high deductibles, but not the low premiums that used to go along with them.

You don't see prices on walls because no one asks about prices. And no one asks about prices because no on cares what their health care costs.

There are basically only two kinds of health care consumers: those who have health insurance, and don't care what their health care costs because they're not paying for it, and those who don't have health insurance and must rely on charity or government safety nets -- and don't care what their health care costs because they're not paying for it.

Yes, company provided, but I never used any, none for my entire career...except for having babies.

So why can't congress fix healthcare insurance?

My "break glass" option is to throw Medicaid and SNAP, and Welfare back to the states, since they like to run corrupt systems.

Comments...
1. Thanks, Obama, for absolutely nothing.
2. Health Insurance costs are out of control.
3. There is no solution, Democrat, Republican, or Trumpian
4. The only solution is the free market. The costs have gotten so out of control, and out of the realm of reality, that the suggestion here is to not buy the policy to begin with. This "insurance" doesn't guarantee health, or longevity. We are all going to die regardless.
5. Pay cash instead
6. Think outside the box. Fly to foreign countries for healthcare if needed.

The system has failed, the politicians have failed. We are responsible for ourselves at this stage.

Over the years, Trump has repeatedly promised to replace the ACA with "something terrific!" that "covers everybody!" at "less cost!"

You must be patient.

Make it 5,000 to start off and increase it yearly.
