'My health insurance is going up to $800 a month with a $15k deductible and that's the CHEAPEST PLAN"

Society isn’t obligated to pay for people who refuse to prepare for the possibility of needing medical care. Do you disagree with that premise? If so, why?
What do you mean?

Do you know how much healthcare costs? Do you think there doesn't need to be healthcare options for people living just above the poverty line, and in very low income?

Well its a wonderful thing less people are having kids and without access to insurance delivering a child is unaffordable.
How crazy is it that we need "insurance" for a predictable, largely chosen, very natural event in most people's lives?

Really changes "insurance" to a cost sharing scheme with a big skim for the "insurance" provider.

No insurance no having kids. Makes sense.

ahhhhh......

what's old is so new again...................

??? Democrats wanted a public run option insurance plan when this was first pushed for.

The healthcare the US has is not exactly liberal or progressive. It's center-right by international standards.

Do you really think Democrats just pushed what they wanted with Obamacare? Republicans are the reason we don't have a public insurance plan as zero of them voted yes for it, and so Obamacare had to modified to help it pass. But keep blaming Obama and Biden for all your problems.
How strange that Democrats passed their Obamacare with no Republican votes and now blame Republicans for themselves' not including a public option.

??? this is the problem with republicans. You guys are so dumb. You're mad at Democrats for not passing a public option? What are you, a communist?

What is Trump's concept of a plan to replace Obamacare again?

In fairness, the Dems were able to get through new local, self-funded, member-owned not-for-profit insurers (co-ops). Not a public option per se but new nonprofit competition. They were intended to exist in every state and the initial results were promising: Lower premiums in CO-OP states.

Alas, the seed funding to set them up was repealed by the GOP after only about half the states had gotten one. And as brand-new insurers, they were particularly vulnerable in the turbulent early years of the marketplaces and so were especially harmed by the GOP's partially-successful efforts to sabotage the mechanisms the ACA put in place to stabilize the markets during those early years: Marco Rubio Quietly Undermines Affordable Care Act.

Most of the new co-ops ultimately ended up failing in the wake of those efforts: Risk Corridor Payments, UnitedHealth, Cooperatives, And The Marketplaces

It's a pretty sad story but emblematic of the GOP's never-ending effort to make everything worse.

No Republicans voted for ACA. So why was it "modified"? I've this seen excuse elsewhere and it just makes no sense. Democrats own ACA.

Because while they had a vast majority of democrat votes, several would not vote on it with a public option. This isn't unusual for same party to vote against something, or for the opposite party to vote for something. Like with the one big beautiful bill, it was declined at first because while democrats all voted no, there were several republicans that also voted no.

In ACA case, it was the moderate and more conservative democrats that blocked it until the public option was removed, specifically Joseph Liberman would not back a version of the bill that included a public option:

No Republican voted for the ACA then, and no Republican is even suggesting how to implement a replacement. The goal is not to replace it. The goal is to tell you that they have a concept of a plan, and the blame Democrats on why they can't give you any kind of healthcare that works for the average American.

Amazing that the human race had children since the cave-dwelling days without insurance or hospitals. Nature.

I don't want a public option, dumbass. The moron I was replying to thinks it is Republican's fault that Dems did not include one in Obamacare.

Well, that's definitely a problem. Party loyalty has become more important than governing.

Right. So I'd say he's more to blame than the Republicans, wouldn't you? Myself, I see no blame to go around as I think a "public option" would be a terrible idea. I think Lieberman, and the Republicans were right to oppose it.

I don't see any "goal" behind Trump's madness. He's just trying to **** up anything Democrats favor.

Comments...
1. Thanks, Obama, for absolutely nothing.
2. Health Insurance costs are out of control.
3. There is no solution, Democrat, Republican, or Trumpian
4. The only solution is the free market. The costs have gotten so out of control, and out of the realm of reality, that the suggestion here is to not buy the policy to begin with. This "insurance" doesn't guarantee health, or longevity. We are all going to die regardless.
5. Pay cash instead
6. Think outside the box. Fly to foreign countries for healthcare if needed.

The system has failed, the politicians have failed. We are responsible for ourselves at this stage.

Hilarious

She can thank billionaires for her issue.

The solutions is single payer OP.

Every American is covered, no exceptions.

For profit coverage can be an option, maybe, for extras like plastic surgery, etc. but basic coverage...every American has access to proper healthcare, job or not.

There can be tiers, but they won't be backbreaking.

It's a ******* crime that Americans currently are going bankrupt if/when they get a cancer diagnosis.
