Not actually in my town or my church, except for the announcement of the Christmas Cantata, to be performed by our parish choral group on December 16th. They do such an amazing job! After they performed the Easter Cantata, I had a lovely conversation with my chiropractor, one of the tenors in the group, and he said he had such a hard time concentrating, because when he looked at the audience, so many people were weeping.

I had the few lights that I use put back in place, after having the exterior of my home painted. I leave them up all the time.

An acquaintance from Saudi Arabia once asked me why so many people in America get married in December, and I couldn't get the question to make any sense. Finally, I asked why they thought a lot of Americans got married in December, and they said, "Because of all the lights"!

Seems that a common practice at Saudi weddings was to decorate lavishly with strings of lights!

Or is all this too pagan?

I think it is ok.

What do you think?

one can not have in their home a tree who's life was taken for a celebration of any kind - remember the sabbath, their creation of life and the garden earth to be kept holy ... those people are sinners of the highest magnitude.

think of those Barbara twigs on Dec 4 🌹🌹🌹🌹
.

Thanks for reminding me of that. I learn so much from you.

I'll ask my priest about this on Dec. 4, if he doesn't include it in his sermon. He often does include something about the Saints' days.
