From Strong's Hebrew-Greek Dictionary:"Yisraelite" is an alternative spelling for Israelite, a term that refers to the descendants of the ancient inhabitants of the Kingdom of Israel. The spelling "Yisraelite" is often used within certain contemporary faith communities, particularly among some branches of the Black Hebrew Israelite movement and Hebraic Roots movements, to emphasize a perceived original Hebrew pronunciation (using 'Y' instead of 'I' and 'ah' sounds).
The term is primarily used in two main contexts today:
The spelling "Yisraelite" appears frequently in the titles and descriptions of books, religious materials, and merchandise related to these modern faith perspectives and cultural studies.
- Ancient Context: It refers to the people described in the Hebrew Bible/Old Testament as the chosen people of God, descendants of the patriarch Jacob (also named Israel).
- Modern Religious Movements:Various contemporary groups, collectively referred to as Black Hebrew Israelites or Hebrew Israelites, use this term to identify themselves. Many of these groups believe that African Americans, and sometimes Native and Latin Americans, are the true biological descendants of the ancient Israelites.
- These movements are non-homogenous, with diverse beliefs and practices that incorporate their own interpretations of Christian and Jewish texts.
- Some extremist sects within this broad movement have been designated as hate groups by organizations like the Southern Poverty Law Center due to their black supremacist and antisemitic ideologies. However, these views do not represent all who identify as Hebrew Israelites or Yisraelites.
Having already Posted Strong's Definition of "Israel",.... I also have to point out that Strong did not belong to any of the "Modern Religious Movements", such as "Black Hebrew Israelites", nor do I for that matter."Yisraelite" is an alternative spelling for Israelite, a term that refers to the descendants of the ancient inhabitants of the Kingdom of Israel. Catholics and Lutherans -- possibly others -- have a tradition of blessing their homes on the Eve of Epiphany by chalking above the door the year and three initials and four crosses. This year, the blessing will read:
20+C+M+B+26
The C, M and B are the initials of the Magi, Caspar, Melchior and Balthazar. Some folks believe they mean "Christus mansionem benedicat", which is "Christ bless this house" in Latin.
I am going to enjoy sharing this tradition this year with my best friend, who is a Lutheran, as we continue to share our traditions with one another.
If there are not enough priests who can chalk all the doors of the parish, the head of the house can use a piece of chalk blessed by a priest.
What has it got to do with the thread topic?Having already Posted Strong's Definition of "Israel",.... I also have to point out that Strong did not belong to any of the "Modern Religious Movements", such as "Black Hebrew Israelites", nor do I for that matter.
There has never, ever, been a "J" in the Hebrew Language, & instead it has always been a "Y", meaning,..... One who Seeks & Stands upon The Truth,.... Will properly Use the "Y".
Furthermore,.... Many of the Texts, The Torah, as well as many of the Histories, & Prophets, are not "Jewish", and instead, they Truthfully are Yisraeli.
Absolutely must reject Xmas, Easter, etc.,
First it was a reply to Ding, second,....... None of these Rituals were practiced by The Children of Yisrael, nor even the "Jews". Matter of Fact,.... Xmas, Easter, etc., are not even found in The Scriptures, as being practiced by the Believers, but they are spoken of in various ways, as being practiced by the Pagans. What has it got to do with the thread topic?![]()

.I was baptized Lutheran. Best as I can recall, my mother told me her family was Lutheran and my father's family Catholic, and when they got married, she convinced him to switch to Lutheran as well.
I used to go to Sunday School in the church where I was baptized and my father often did minor repairs to the place on his days off. When my father passed away, he was laid out in that church and the minister read a poem for him written by a holy man who used to give peace talks at the United Nations.
You've drifted from the TruthThere are some pagan things in there but overall, the focus is on Jesus's birth, even if they get the details wrong.
Are Jews bad parents. Are their children "denied the wonder and enjoyment of Santa Claus???can't imagine denying a small child the thrill, wonder, joy of concepts of Santa Claus and his elves and reindeer and all the other mythology. The concept of the joyous celebration of Christmas is contained in these myths even though the characters and symbolism is fiction
The truth is found in the New Covenant not old covenant rituals. You've drifted from the Truth
The sin of "mixtures" is the counterfeit churches great sin
You shall NOT worship the Lord your God as the nations around you worship their gods.
