Venezuela officially nationalized its oil industry on 1 January 1976 at the site of Zumaque oilwell 1 (Mene Grande), and along with it came the birth of Petróleos de Venezuela S.A. (PDVSA) which is the Venezuelan state-owned petroleum company.

And Chavez finished it in 2007, making it a poor choice for investing in. PDVSA still had some autonomy before 2007, and that allowed them to attract investors.

Venezuela WAS a wealthy nation. Since communism it has degenerated into a few wealthy people and everyone else being impoverished. Many have fled to America but want to go back one day. These people fleeing have good job skills....easily filling into trades and jobs with little issues of communication. (Someone is always near for translating when necessary)

And if those who fled Venezuela were home and voting....there would be a huge difference in what happened with the election.

Venezuela once was a place that immigrants went to for jobs, work, and lifestyle. Not now!

1. Popular opposition leader was banned from participating in the election - THATS NOT LIKE ANY AMERICAN ELECTION.
2. Venezuela's election hard ballot counts are being withheld - THATS NOT LIKE ANY AMERICAN ELECTION.
3. Pre-election and exit polls wildly diverge from official results produced by Venezuela's gov - THATS NOT LIKE ANY AMERICAN ELECTION.

Can you address ANY of these fundamental factual differences?
