I can understand your viewpoint .. but the system may not be as complex and difficult to implement as many may think . it could be something like what Israel has .. a missile defense system where defenses are strategically placed every few hundred miles on the coast.. remember we are half a world away from the enemies that Israels Iron Dome system defends against .. we would have ample warning if missiles were launched .. so yes an Iron Dome for the US to protect against long and short range missile attacks is very plausible ..

Israel is a vastly different situation...Nowhere near the square mileage to try and protect.

The Reagan orbital SDI would be much more practical, if it were a platform for, say, a particle beam directed energy weapon.

Even so, the attacks in the war of the Current Year™ will be cyber, psyop, biological (COVID), and coordinated terror attacks a-la Oct7....Aircraft carriers, B-52s, and ICBMs are useless in such scenarios.

I posted that weeks ago, but yes I agree an "Iron Dome" like missile shield for the US makes no sense other than the space-based part of the proposal.

you are correct on the square mileage .. but remember they are facing attacks from their own back yard .. so yes .. it maybe possible to defend the entire US with an Iron Dome like defense system strategically placed every few hundred miles on our coasts and borders .. remember .. we'd have a lot more reaction time than Israel has ..
