Transparency International, a Berlin-based nonprofit that monitors and exposes corruption around the world, has released its annual Corruption Perceptions Index on 146 countries surveyed. The least corrupt countries are Finland, New Zealand, Denmark, Iceland, Singapore, Sweden and Switzerland. The most corrupt countries are Bangaladesh, Haiti, Nigeria, Chad, Myanmar, Azerbaijan, and Paraguay. Wonder if our outsourcing companies have any operations in those countries?
The United States ranked #17 on the Index, tied with Belgium and Ireland. Not bad, I guess, considering that 146 countries were surveyed.
The Transparency Corruption Perceptions Index can be accessed at Transparency International's website, if you have an interest in reading it.
