He and Trump agreed he can serve best there. But look for him to be JD Vance's running mate in 2028. An unbeatable combination if the Trump team can deliver on most they hope to deliver in the next four years.

• And Ben Carson was a neurosurgeon, academic, author, and was a pioneer in the field of neurosurgery.
