I thought pretty much the same as you do until I watched the trial. A lot of what you said in this post is inaccurate. I'm not going to go through every correction based on the evidence that was presented, but suffice it to say I was wrong initially about his intention and what he was doing at the time. This seems a clear case of self-defense.

That's not what happened.
The correct analogy is to go into a biker bar, and call them pussies.
They get up to beat your ass, and you run.
They chase you out of the bar, across the parking lot, down the street, and finally catch you-- with weapons.
At that point you have -every- right to shoot them.
And its not even clear that Rittemhouse called anyone a pussy.
