Yes, an AR is an arm. So the US Constitution would cover both an AR and a blackpowder revolver.

But other laws says you can't own an AR. Since you can still own a BP revolver, your constitutional right to bear arms has not been violated.

This happened last month, so I’m not sure it’s still a current event. Nonetheless...

In East Boston recently, a mother and her daughter were physically attacked by two women who were apparently enraged by the fact that the family members were speaking Spanish to each other. The attack was caught on surveillance video.

The incident took place in Maverick Square, an area with lots and lots of Spanish speakers.

Cases like this are super rare. Usually its a group of black people violently assaulting white people. They sucker punch you from behind, then they gleefully kick and jump on your head. Im going to guess the incident in the OP is nothing like those attacks.

Junior, I have forgotten more about firearms than you will ever know.

The problem is, you want the US Constitution to be the ONLY law in this case. It isn't. But since you do have options (that do not include ARs and other cartridge weapons), and CAN own arms, it is not in violation of the 2nd amendment.

And, since you believe the "will of the people" can over rule the US Constitution, the will of the people was that felons can't own guns.

They are made into part of the total body of Constitutional law itself.
