He is a judge in a federal court. He has no authority to tell the state or county what to do unless the state or county is in violation of a federal law.

Original desire: Not to issue Civil Marriage Licenses to same-sex couples.

That changed to: Not issue Civil Marriage License to anyone.

Then it became: No have my name on the Civil Marriage License.


The Judge agreed to her accommodation request.



Now it's not have her name and not under the authority of the Rowan County Clerk (which is her position).

When to the goalposts get fixed in place?

Why do religious people think marriage is sacred? The bible talks about a lot of thing. Owning property or owning animals for example. Does that mean only straight people should be able to own property because the bible talks about the subject?
