Let's stop right there. Other than democrats trying to say that something will happen in the future, what's the evidence that "armed masked thugs" are planning or have previously been placed at polling places?

Under section 264(e) of the Immigration and Nationality Act (INA), non-citizens over the age of 18 are legally required to carry proof of immigration status at all times. This includes permanent residents, visa holders, asylum recipients, and others with legal presence.

Because that "one time event" establishes who's in charge for the next 2 YEARS in the house amd senate. And if polling places are a lower priority why start an OP defending Ice's precense?

You want to send an agency that was tasked with executing Trump's signature issue to polling places that heavily recruited during this administration. Meaning there have a large number of people that are ideoligically alligned with 1 political party... yours. An agency that's been armed with the power to detain anybody they choose. A power that routinely result in AMERICAN citizens being unjustly detained.

Trump has been explicit that he wants to shore up election vulnerabilities; including, enhancing protections against voter fraud with ICE monitoring polls and putting the SAVES Act in place. If you are a US citizen, this should be of no concern. Predictably, the Democrats are putting ICE presence at polls and SAVES as top priority which means they have something to hide. Democrats are pulling the race card in both instances and showing that they are not as concerned for ICE showing up at schools and work or making sure that everyone has Real ID for everyday life beyond a 1 Day voting event.

Democrats are no fans of ICE being anywhere but keeping ICE away from polling places is a top priority - to the point they are willing to keep DHS shut down if this demand is not met.

If you think about it, Democrats insist and are certain illegals don’t vote in elections. If ICE is putting any effort to be near polling places during an election, that’s fewer resources to go after illegals elsewhere. Couple this with Democrats concern over illegals being left off voter registration polls and SAVES Act passage.
