Just How Stupid Do They Think We Are?

The more I think about Joe Biden's pardon of his bagman/tax-cheat son, Hunter, the angrier I get — but maybe not for the reason you think.

As I'm sure you're well aware by now, père Biden's blanket pardon forgives all of Hunter's transgressions going back ten years, when father (then vice president) and son were both playing footsie with Vladimir Putin's old cronies in Kyiv. Burisma? Pardoned. Million-dollar tax evasion? Ditto. Gun offenses, all of it.
Then there's the Big Lie because it isn't Joe Biden without one.
"No reasonable person who looks at the facts of Hunter’s cases can reach any other conclusion than Hunter was singled out only because he is my son," Biden said in a statement on Sunday, "and that is wrong."
Oh, please. Hunter was guilty of far more than he was ever convicted of. The Biden DOJ dragged its feet and let the worst offenses slip under the statute of limitations and only brought him to court after whistleblowers blew up the DOJ's sweetheart plea deal. If Joe had gotten his way — and he nearly did — there would have been no need for pardon.
And as my colleague Matt Margolis wrote earlier today, the pardon was just as much about protecting père as it was about forgiving son — "it was about preventing exposure of the Biden crime family's influence-peddling schemes."

But here's the thing. The president's constitutional power to pardon for federal offenses is effectively unlimited. POTUS can pardon anyone for anything at any time and at his sole discretion. "He shall have Power to grant Reprieves and Pardons for Offences against the United States, except in Cases of Impeachment," the Founders wrote. And that's that. So there's no sense in getting all upset about the Hunter Biden pardon, even though it's easily the most nepotistic and self-serving act in White House history — all wrapped in a shroud of lies about Trump.

We weren't just assured that Biden would never do the thing we all knew he would, we were scolded for knowing that Biden would do the thing we all knew he would do.

Meanwhile, the biased media is scrambling to justify this dual act of Nepotism and covering up of the Biden family crimes and treasonous acts against America.
Schiff may have been right when he attempted to stop Trump by introducing the Abuse of the Pardon Prevention Act.
Although it was specifically aimed at controlling Trump. It could have stopped Biden his butt today.

In a way, Joe's action, pardoning his son, is a brilliant gift to Trump. It does two things:
1. Shows that Democrats — at least Biden — also believe the DoJ unfairly targets people for political reasons. Which is exactly what Trump has been saying!​
2. Provides cover for Trump to pardon individuals he thinks have been such targets, like the J6ers. And family members and friends for personal reasons, as well. (He would do this anyway, of course, but now it will cost him less political capital.)​
This may not be the end of it from Biden. I wouldn’t be surprised if on Jan 19th he issues a sweeping pardon for hundreds or thousands of people who he thinks may be a “target” of Trump. THAT will really open Pandora’s box.

They all crow about how wonderful biden is because he will not pardon his son Hunter Biden

But now biden has broken his word and used the pardon

I guess Biden has now opened the door for Trump to issue a blanket pardon for anyone connected with the capitol protest on J6, and there ain't a damned thing the left can say about it.

Thanks for catching that! They do this on such a regular basis, some of us have lost the instinctive reaction to fact check many of the things we're told that don't quite pass the smell test, even when on its face it appears truthful of legitimate.
 
If I were his son Hunter, I'd be pissed his dad didn't pardon him before Congress critters put him through the mud of daily harassment hearings and press conferences, and New York post October surprise laptop shown to the world that continued for four years etc etc etc, and spoiling his plea agreement, etc etc etc....

Why would Biden let Hunter go through all of that, if he really planned to pardon him? Why would a father allow his son to go through all of that...?

Seems, Biden really did have plans NOT to pardon him, but changed his mind....?
 
Get a grip. Trump's supreme court says any official act by a president is good to go, totally legal. Absolute control of presidential clemency, is part of the constitution.

As Adam Schiff said in 2018, we wouldn’t want a president abusing the pardon power in order to “shield himself from liability” because such circumstances could very easily amount to an “obstruct[ion of] justice.” Schiff made the comments on a CNN segment with Don Lemon shortly after he introduced legislation that would compel a president to hand over all the investigative files of any potential pardons in which the president is/was directly implicated.

As you probably already surmised, Schiff’s proposal was a lawfare campaign against President Trump, but in light of Joe Biden’s decision to endow his son Hunter with a get-out-jail-free card—that seems like a more accurate description than “pardon” since Hunter now has a pass on potential crimes with which he’s not even been charged—I have to wonder if Schiff’s sentiments remain the same.

Just how many Neo-Marxist Democrats have mouthed the words "No One Is Above The Law"?
Why is this Despot Biden using his position to pardon is son of any crimes he committed for a 10 year period of time?
Are Democrats exercising their elitist prerogatives and falling back on Orwell's Animal Farm quote, "All animals are equal, but some animals are more equal than others"...
There will be no justice in Democrat America unless this atrocity of law is changed.

The legalities of a President’s right to pardon aside, does it not bother you that he pardoned his son from anything he may have done going back to just before he started working at Burisma? Do you really think Hunter got that job for his skill set? Do you really think Joe wasn’t involved? Seriously?

It doesn't matter anymore because he is pardoned. I wouldn't say I like it or the fact we have a felon in the White House and another one of Trump's family members(felon) who was pardoned by Trump and is now an Ambassador for the US, but there is no choice in the matter.

Schiff doesn't matter. The power is in the constitution, and Supreme Courts a president can do pretty much anything they decide, if it is part of official duties. So, I guess you are cool with it, since the Republicans wanted this understanding.
