Addressing it proactively is something Trump and Musk will be infinitely more qualified to do. But that is like many of the other problems the current administration has caused. Thread title is a lie, Vance did not say SS would be targeted. He said:

“And the thing that’s complicated about this, man, is it’s going to look much different in, say, the Department of Defense versus Social Security,”

He is making a comparison.

The Pentagon can't even be audited and they have no idea where all the money goes. The waste is legendary.

Social Security runs on autopilot, there is very little you can do about the costs in SS which are basically just admin.
